From Lepar Pongok to Babel State Police, High School Students Look for Directions to Study Places
Efforts to broaden the educational horizons of high school students continue to be intensified. On Thursday (November 20, 2025), the Bangka Belitung State Manufacturing Polytechnic (Polman Babel) again received a study visit, this time from SMAN 1 Lepar Pongok, who came all the way from across the island, Lepar Island.
The group of 12th-grade students participated in the study tour to gain information about the world of college, particularly regarding post-high school study options. Their arrival received a warm welcome from Polman Babel's leadership.
In his remarks, Somawardi, M.T., Head of Academic, Student Affairs, and Cooperation at Polman Babel, expressed the enthusiasm of the students who traveled so far to visit the campus.
"We've come all the way from Lepar Island to Polman Babel, and it's an honor for us to have SMAN 1 Lepar Pongok visit us," he said.
Similarly, the Head of the Academic Sub-Division, Olan Romdhani, S.E., stated that this was the first visit from SMAN 1 Lepar Pongok. "Hopefully, many students from the school will be interested in engineering and aspire to become technocrats," he said.
Olan explained that Polman Babel offers various new student admission pathways, such as SNBP, SNBT, and the Independent pathway.
"This makes it easier for students to plan their further studies according to their interests and abilities," he said.

In addition to discussing college, this meeting also opened up opportunities for collaboration between Polman Babel and SMAN 1 Lepar Pongok. This collaboration covers research and community service in the Lepar Pongok area.
"We hope this visit will have a positive impact on both parties, both for the students and for the future development of the school," Olan added.
Meanwhile, Agustama, S.Pd., Vice Principal for Human Resources Development at SMAN 1 Lepar Pongok, stated that his school strives to ensure students have a clear picture of higher education.
"After graduating from high school, they should at least know where they want to go. If possible, they should study at Polman Babel," he admitted.
Agustama explained that the school has plans to develop home industries in Lepar Pongok, such as the production of crab egg crackers and other specialty crackers, which are currently still manually produced. "For this reason, his party is opening up opportunities for collaboration with Polman Babel in terms of technological assistance," he concluded.
