Babel State Polman Builds International Footprint, 265 Students Participate in INTACT and INTENSE Programs
A total of 265 students from the Bangka Belitung State Manufacturing Polytechnic (Polman Babel) took part in the Discover the Exciting World of INTACT Base and INTENSE Program (Taiwan-Indonesia) which took place on Tuesday (24/09/2024).
This program is part of an international effort aimed at connecting Indonesian talent with educational and career opportunities in Taiwan. Through strategic collaboration between the two countries, students are expected to be able to develop global competencies that are ready to compete on the international stage.
The INTACT Base program was first launched in August 2023 with the aim of building a talent exchange network between Indonesia and Taiwan. This program targets D3, D4, and S1 graduates who aspire to broaden their academic and career horizons through collaboration with various leading educational and industrial institutions in Taiwan. This initiative emphasizes the importance of global collaboration to support the growth of high-quality human resources.
In addition, INTACT Base will inaugurate a "Special International Industrial Talent Education Program" in fall 2024. This program is designed to provide full support to Indonesian students, both in the form of scholarships and financial benefits from global companies. A conducive learning environment and strong academic support are the main attractions for students who want to pursue science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM).
The INTENSE program is an important part of this project. INTENSE integrates Taiwan government scholarships, allowances from leading companies, as well as training in a professional campus environment. The main focus is to form a generation of superior talents in the fields of semiconductors, advanced technology and finance. Students taking part in this program will gain access to world-class facilities and in-depth training, preparing them to face global industry challenges.
Chairman of the Polman Babel Career and Collaboration Center, Ir. Dedy Ramdhani Harahap, M.Sc. (Eng) welcomed student participation in this program. "The INTACT and INTENSE programs provide extraordinary opportunities for Polman Babel students to develop their abilities in a global environment. We hope that they will not only bring knowledge home, but also build international networks that will be beneficial for their future careers," he said.
Dedy also emphasized that this program is an important step in preparing Polman Babel students to compete in the global labor market. "This collaboration with institutions in Taiwan opens the door for our graduates to gain relevant and valuable industrial experience. We are confident that the participants in this program will become pioneers in technological innovation in the future," he added.

The Director of INTACT Babel, Supriantono, B.E., M.B.A., also gave his views. According to him, this program is part of a long-term vision to strengthen cooperation between Taiwan and Indonesia. "We want to ensure that Indonesian students get the same opportunities to develop in the high-tech field as students in other developed countries," he said.
The INTACT and INTENSE programs are clear proof that synergy between education and industry can create endless opportunities for students. By encouraging students to get involved in international programs that can provide experience, knowledge and wider networks.
"With the opportunities that are wide open through this program, students are expected to not only be able to develop technical skills, but also instill an innovative global mindset, bringing positive change to Indonesia in the future," he concluded.
