BBIS Officially Becomes an Asset of the Babel State Polman, a Historical Moment in the Development of Fisheries Education
The Bangka Belitung State Manufacturing Polytechnic (Polman Babel) has again recorded an important achievement by successfully acquiring the Central Fish Seed Center (BBIS) as one of the campus' strategic assets.
This step not only strengthens Polman Babel's position in the world of education, but also marks a new chapter in the development of research and innovation in the field of fisheries.
In an atmosphere full of warmth and gratitude, Polman Babel held a thanksgiving and prayer event together on Friday (16/08/2024). This solemn event was attended by all lecturers, education staff, as well as officials from the Penyamun village government. Their presence was not only to celebrate this historic moment, but also as a form of support for the big steps taken by Polman Babel.
Optimism was clearly visible on the faces of the event participants, reflecting a new spirit that is ready to take Polman Babel to higher achievements.
The takeover of BBIS was officially carried out through the signing of two crucial documents: the Grant Agreement Text (NPH) between the Acting Governor of Bangka Belitung and the Minister of Education, Culture, Research and Technology (Mendikbudristek), as well as the Minutes of Handover (BAST) signed by the Acting Regional Secretary Bangka Belitung and Secretary General of the Ministry of Education and Culture.
With an area of 5 hectares, BBIS has now become an important asset for Polman Babel. The available facilities, such as fish ponds, buildings and other equipment, will become centers for the development of superior research and education. Interestingly, this land is even larger than the main Polman Babel campus in Air Kantung which is only 4.6 hectares, opening up great opportunities for further expansion and innovation.

Director of Polman Babel, I Made Andik Setiawan, M.Eng., Ph.D., in his speech, expressed his gratitude and confidence in the increasingly bright future of Polman Babel and for this takeover and views it as a big responsibility that will be managed fully dedication.
“The takeover of BBIS is a big mandate that we accept with full responsibility. "Thank God, BBIS is now part of Polman Babel and we will make it an innovation center that not only benefits students and lecturers, but also has a positive impact on the surrounding community," he said with full confidence.
I Made Andik also added that with the great potential that BBIS has, Polman Babel is very optimistic that it can encourage educational development and make a real contribution to this area.
“We accept this mandate with full responsibility. By joining BBIS into Polman Babel, we will make it an innovation center that is beneficial for students, lecturers and the surrounding community. "This is an important step towards a better future," said I Made Andik.

Furthermore, he emphasized his belief that with the great potential that BBIS has, Polman Babel is ready to encourage educational development and make a real contribution to the Bangka Belitung region.
This thanksgiving event is not just a celebration, but a symbol of Polman Babel's strong determination to continue to progress, make achievements and present innovations that have a positive impact on the wider community. "With the takeover of BBIS, Polman Babel is now in a stronger position to achieve its vision and mission, and create a brilliant future," he concluded.
