Polman Negeri Babel is Not Just a Visit, SMKN 2 Pangkalpinang Students Get Inspiration for College
The Bangka Belitung State Manufacturing Polytechnic (Polman Babel) welcomed students from SMK Negeri 2 Pangkalpinang as part of an introduction to the world of higher education for final-year students preparing for their next steps on Thursday (April 9, 2026).
Approximately 90 students from various majors enthusiastically participated in the series of activities centered in the Polman Babel campus auditorium. The atmosphere provided an overview of college life, both academically and in the campus environment. The students were attentive and actively engaged in each presentation.

Assistant teacher, Fitri Novianti, S.Pd., stated that this activity was a strategic step in broadening students' horizons before continuing their education to a higher level.
"This campus visit is a first step for students to get to know the world of college firsthand, so they can see what activities are like on campus and begin preparing themselves for the challenges of college entrance selection," she explained.
Fitri sincerely hopes that after this visit, students will have a clearer picture of the majors and campuses that align with their interests and talents, so they can make the right choice in their educational future.
"Especially for those who didn't pass the SNBP (National Student Admission) pathway, don't be disappointed. There's still an opportunity to register through the SNBT (National Student Admission) and the Independent Polman Babel pathway," she said.
Meanwhile, the Head of Academic, Student Affairs, and Cooperation at Polman Babel, Somawardi, M.T., presented a detailed campus profile video to the students.
He explained the history of Polman Babel, the various student achievements, the campus facilities that support learning, and the excellent study programs relevant to current industry needs. He also provided information about college entrance pathways, such as the SNBP (National Student Admission), SNBT (National Student Admission), and the Independent pathway.
"The key to success in college selection is thorough preparation, discipline in studying, and self-confidence. Equally important, choose a major that aligns with your interests and talents," he said.

The atmosphere became even more lively as the Q&A session opened. Students enthusiastically asked a variety of questions, from the lecture system to job opportunities after graduation. Students were also taken on a tour of the practical facilities, laboratories, and theory rooms in each study program, giving them a real-life picture of what learning at Polman Babel is like," he emphasized.
