Babel State Polman Produces Superior Lecturers with OBE-Based International Accreditation Training
The Bangka Belitung State Manufacturing Polytechnic (Polman Babel) has again taken strategic steps in improving the quality of human resources by holding International Accreditation training based on Outcome-Based Education (OBE).
The training, which took place on Tuesday (22/10/2024) at the Swiss-Bel Hotel Pangkalpinang, was attended by lecturers as the main participants.
Taking place in the Sri Pemandang Meeting Room, 3rd floor, this training presented the main resource person, Dr-Ing. Arif Irwansyah, M.Eng., an expert in international accreditation and OBE implementation. Arif, with his extensive experience, emphasized the importance of universities adopting OBE to equip graduates with the adaptive skills needed in the global world of work.
"OBE does not only focus on teaching material, but also on developing the critical and creative abilities of graduates so they are ready to face the challenges of the world of work," said Arif in his session.
Director of Polman Babel, I Made Andik Setiawan, M.Eng., Ph.D., also expressed his appreciation for the implementation of this training. He emphasized that increasing lecturers' understanding regarding OBE is a strategic step for Polman Babel to continue to compete at the international level.
"This activity is a concrete step towards increasing global competitiveness, which is in line with Polman Babel's vision," said I Made.
He also encouraged lecturers to make the best use of this opportunity and apply the knowledge gained to the learning process on campus.
"One of the training participants, Riki Afriansyah, M.T., admitted that the material presented really opened up new insights and the OBE training focused on the desired learning outcomes, ensuring that every educational activity leads to achieving competencies in accordance with the profile of study program graduates," he said.
"The OBE approach is very relevant in helping us develop a curriculum that is more structured and in line with industry needs," he said.
This training not only prioritizes theory, but also direct practice regarding the application of OBE in the Polman Babel academic environment, it is hoped that it will be able to make this institution more competitive on the global stage.
