Bangka Belitung State Manufacturing Polytechnic Holds OBE Workshop and LAM-INFOKOM Accreditation, Emphasizes Superior Accreditation in Every Study Program
Bangka Belitung State Manufacturing Polytechnic (Polman Babel) successfully held an Outcome-Based Education (OBE) Curriculum Workshop and a Workshop on preparing LAM-Technical accreditation documents at Puri Ansell on Monday (28/10/2024).
This event aims to strengthen the quality of the curriculum and support study programs to achieve superior accreditation.
This workshop was attended directly by the Deputy Director I of Polman Babel, Irwan, Ph.D., who also invited lecturers from the Informatics and Business Department as well as the Polman Babel Internal Quality Assurance System (SPMI) Team. Also present was Dr. Tita Karlita, S.Kom, M.Kom, from the Quality Assurance Unit of the PENS Accreditation Section as the main resource person who guided the session.
In his speech, Irwan, Ph.D. emphasized the importance of implementing OBE to increase the relevance of the curriculum to industry needs.
"The OBE-based curriculum is a big step in creating graduates who are ready to compete in the world of work, and of course strengthens superior accreditation for Polman Babel," he said.
Irwan also hopes that through this workshop, lecturers will better understand and be able to implement LAM-Technique accreditation standards better.
"Collaboration between all parties, from leadership to the SPMI team, is very crucial so that each study program can achieve its superior accreditation target," he added.
Meanwhile, Dr. Tita Karlita as resource person, explained various techniques and important stages in preparing accreditation documents that comply with LAM-Technique standards. He underlined that the quality of documents really determines the final results of accreditation.
"Accreditation documents must show the excellence of every aspect of the study program," explained Tita.
Not only that, Tita also reminded the importance of togetherness in achieving superior accreditation. He conveyed a strong message that synergy between study programs, faculties and the entire team is the key to obtaining the best accreditation.
"We are not just talking about accreditation, but how to build a sustainable academic reputation," he said.
On the same occasion, the Head of the Informatics and Business Department, Yang Agita Indri, M.Eng., expressed high optimism regarding achieving superior accreditation for study programs under her department.
"We will continue to improve the quality of the Informatics and Business study programs, especially Software Engineering (TRPL) which is currently preparing accreditation documents," he said when confirmed on Tuesday (29/10/2024).
Yang Agita explained that the TRPL study program was intensifying preparations for accreditation by utilizing the knowledge gained from this workshop.
“Direct guidance from experts like Dr. "Tita has been a valuable guide for us to better understand and meet LAM-Teknik accreditation standards," he added.
One of the lecturers, Sidhiq Andriyanto., M.Kom. Those who took part in this activity also admitted that they received many benefits, especially in understanding the role of Outcome-Based Education as a basis for forming a quality curriculum.
"This workshop opened our insight into the importance of accreditation as a reflection of the quality of education," he added.
This workshop also provides momentum to increase the competence of the UPPS Team in the process of preparing accreditation documents. "It is hoped that with the knowledge gained, this team can be better prepared to face the accreditation process and provide the best results," he said.
This activity emphasizes that Polman Babel is not only pursuing accreditation, but also building a curriculum that is capable of producing superior, competent graduates and relevant to the latest industry needs.
