To Boost Interest in College, 172 Students from Simpang Teritip 1 State Senior High School Invade the Polman State Campus in Babel
The visit by SMA Negeri 1 Simpang Teritip to the Bangka Belitung State Manufacturing Polytechnic (Polman Babel) on Wednesday (December 17, 2025) aimed to foster interest among 12th-grade students in continuing their education to higher education, particularly vocational education.
A total of 172 students, accompanied by 45 accompanying teachers, arrived at the Polman Babel campus and were immediately directed to the main hall. The group was warmly welcomed by the leadership and academic community of Polman Babel.
The atmosphere in the hall was lively from the beginning. The students enthusiastically participated in the series of events, from campus introductions and presentations on study programs to an overview of career opportunities for Polman Babel graduates in the industrial world.
The Head of Academic, Student Affairs, and Cooperation at Polman Babel, Somawardi, M.T., opened the event with a brief but concise presentation on the campus profile. Without wasting any time, he immediately explained the advantages of vocational education, which emphasizes practice and job readiness," he concluded.
Somawardi explained that Polman Babel offers a solution for high school graduates who want to attend college and develop competencies that meet industry needs.
"At Polman Babel, students not only learn theory, but are also equipped with strong skills and practical experience," he added.

He also added that the vocational campus plays a strategic role in producing superior and competitive human resources. "Through visits like this, we hope students will gain a real-life picture of the world of vocational studies at Polman Babel," he explained.
Not only from the campus, but the Principal of SMA Negeri 1 Simpang Teritip, Agus Risnan Jaya, commented on his pleasure in bringing students to visit Polman Babel in person," he admitted.
According to Agus, the presentation of the material was very clear and easy for the students to understand. From explanations of lectures, study programs, to job prospects for graduates, everything was delivered in a communicative manner.
"From the moment we arrived on campus, we were greeted with warmth, the students felt comfortable and motivated, and it was a very valuable experience for them," he said.
SMA Negeri 1 Simpang Teritip plans to return to Polman Babel in the future, as the campus feels special and has its own unique character. "God willing, we will come again next year," he concluded.
