Joint Collaboration, Polman Babel, Residents, and PT Timah Hold Mutual Cooperation on 30th Anniversary
In commemoration of the 30th Anniversary, the Bangka Belitung State Manufacturing Polytechnic (Polman Babel) held mutual cooperation activities around the Airkantung Industrial Area, Sungailiat, on Friday (18/10/2024).
This activity involves various parties, from the academic community, local government, to the surrounding community.

The chief organizer of the activity, Robert Napitupulu, M.T., explained that this mutual cooperation aims to strengthen ties between Polman Babel and the surrounding community, as well as increasing awareness of the importance of keeping the environment clean.
"We are carrying out this activity as part of Polman Babel's 30th Anniversary celebration, as well as to educate the public about the importance of keeping the environment clean," said Robert.
In its implementation, Polman Babel collaborated with the Sungailiat Regional Government, local residents, and representatives from PT Timah. "We deliberately collaborate with various parties, including the government and local companies, to show that maintaining cleanliness is a shared responsibility," added Robert.

Local residents, especially from Nangnung Village which is close to the Airkantung Industrial Area, are actively involved in this activity. They worked together with Polman Babel students and lecturers to clean the surrounding area which often became a place for illegal rubbish dumping.
Not only mutual cooperation, Polman Babel also established posts at strategic points which are often used as rubbish dumps. This post aims to provide outreach to the public so that they no longer throw rubbish carelessly.
"We hope that with this post, people will be more aware and disciplined in disposing of rubbish in the right place," said Robert.
Apart from cleaning the area, this activity is also equipped with education regarding the importance of good and correct waste management. Through this outreach, Robert hopes that the public will increasingly understand the negative impacts of littering, both on health and the environment.

PT Timah representatives who also attended this activity expressed their appreciation for the Polman Babel initiative. "We really support activities like this because they can increase public awareness about the importance of protecting the environment," said one PT Timah representative.
Polman Babel lecturers and students also looked enthusiastic in this mutual cooperation activity. They work together to clean the roads and areas around industrial areas, reflecting a strong spirit of mutual cooperation.
"We are proud to be part of this activity, especially during our campus' special anniversary moment," said one of the students involved.
Not stopping at mutual cooperation activities, Polman Babel also plans to hold further programs in the form of counseling and training related to waste management and the environment.
Robert added, "We want this activity to be sustainable, so that the benefits can be felt in the long term." he said.
This activity is proof of Polman Babel in protecting the environment and building good relations with the surrounding community. "Through collaboration and education, it is hoped that awareness of the importance of environmental cleanliness can continue to be increased in the future," said Robert Napitupulu.
