The BEM Polman Negeri Babel and UBB Collaborate to Sharpen Soft Skills and Expand Student Communication Networks
In an effort to strengthen ties and improve soft skills among students, the Student Executive Board (BEM) of the Bangka Belitung State Manufacturing Polytechnic (Polman Babel) held a joint event with the Student Executive Board (BEM) of Bangka Belitung University (UBB). This event served as a forum for exchanging ideas, experiences, and networking between campuses on Monday afternoon (10/13/2025).
The event was filled with camaraderie and a spirit of togetherness. Students from both campuses shared insights on organizational development, leadership, and strategies for building effective communication in running student organizations.
The Head of BEM Polman Babel, Yuda, when contacted on Tuesday (10/14/2025), explained that this event aimed to strengthen relations between BEMs in Bangka Belitung while also developing adaptive and communicative student character. "This activity is not just a formal meeting, but also to foster solidarity and broaden the horizons of Polman Babel and UBB students," he said.
He added that going forward, his institution is committed to maintaining this positive synergy through other collaborative activities that can hone leadership and teamwork skills among students.
"Not only does the Polman Student Executive Board (BEM) visit other campuses, but we are also open to receiving visits from external BEMs to expand our network and gain new insights," he said.
This is because campus support is also a crucial factor in ensuring the success of every BEM activity. "We always receive full support from the leadership, lecturers, and all elements of the student organizations (ormawa) at Polman Babel," he explained.
Furthermore, with activities like these, it is hoped that students can continue to improve their non-technical skills, such as communication, collaboration, leadership, and other essential skills that will be invaluable in the workplace and in social life," he explained.
