30 Teachers of SMPN 2 Sungailiat Participate in Learning Management System Training from Polman Babel
MOODLE & EXAM VIEW Based Learning Development Workshop for Teachers of SMPN 2 Sungailiat, 30 September 2023
SUNGAILIAT-POLMANBABEL. A total of thirty teachers at SMP Negeri 2 Sungailiat received training and learning development through the Learning Management System (LMS) and Exam View from lecturers at the Bangka Belitung State Manufacturing Polytechnic (Polman Babel) on 16, 23 and 20 September 2023.
This training is a form of Community Service (PKM) for Polman Babel lecturers with the aim of improving the skills of SMPN 2 Sungailiat teachers in developing LMS-based learning.
The service team this time is from lecturers at the Department of Electrical and Informatics Engineering, Polman Babel, consisting of Dr. Parulian Silalahi, Yang Agita Rindri, M.Eng., Sidhiq Andriyanto, M.Kom.
Also assisted by students from the Software Engineering Technology study program, Pidaryani and Husnul Fadlilah.
The Head of SMP Negeri 2 Sungailiat, Margono, M.Pd expressed his support for this activity which is very useful in improving the digital skills and literacy of SMPN 2 Sungailiat teachers amidst the rapid development of ICT, this he conveyed at the opening of the training last September.
The teachers were enthusiastic about participating in the development of this LMS learning system with interesting presentations delivered by the team from Polman Babel.
One of the service teams, Yang Agita Rindri, said that the activities were carried out over several days with three agendas that had been prepared in advance.
First, prepare the design and development of a Learning Management System (LMS) for SMPN 2 Sungailiat which can be accessed at the address https://smpn2sungailiat.vba-bel.id/.
Furthermore, the implementation of Learning Development Training activities with the Learning Management System and Exam View for SMPN 2 Sungailiat teachers was carried out for 3 days at SMPN 2 Sungailiat.
Then finally, mentoring activities are carried out to help teachers use the Moodle LMS application when creating blended learning lesson plans, as well as creating questions that will be integrated with the Moodle LMS.
According to Yang Agita, this service activity is very useful in improving the skills of teachers, for the service team and also for Polman Babel students.
"There are three benefits that can be taken from carrying out this training activity, namely for partners, for our service team and also for our students," he said when confirmed (4/10).
In more detail, he explained the benefits of carrying out this service for partners to improve skills in utilizing information and communication technology for learning and the benefits for the Service Team include increasing the level of partner empowerment as shown by the increase in the number of lecturers carrying out activities outside the campus.
Meanwhile, the benefit for students involved in this service is that students get recognition for studying outside campus which can be converted into 2 credits with a total of 32 hours of activity per student.
"We would like to express our gratitude for the participation of the teachers at SMP Negeri 2 Sungailiat, and the support from the school principal, hopefully there will be other activities through the service of Polman Babel," said Yang Andri.
