The Babel State Polytechnic Encourages Lecturer Professionalism Through SolidWorks Certification Training
Lecturers from the Bangka Belitung State Manufacturing Polytechnic (Polman Babel) participated in SolidWorks professional certification training held at the CADCAM Laboratory Design Building on Thursday (February 5, 2026).
The five-day SolidWorks professional certification training, from February 2 to 6, 2026, was intensively designed to enable participants to understand and master the advanced features of this engineering design software widely used in industry.
Twenty-one lecturers from the Mechanical Engineering Department participated in the training. All participants were teachers directly involved in design and manufacturing courses, particularly CADCAM, making the training highly relevant to the learning needs of the Polman Babel campus.

The training was led by Iqbal, a Prosinergi lecturer and practicing lecturer for the CADCAM course. In his presentation, he explained that the main material focused on Advanced Part Modeling with advanced design techniques using SolidWorks.
According to Iqbal, mastering advanced part modeling is crucial for lecturers to keep up with increasingly complex manufacturing design technology.
"The material covers detailed component creation, advanced feature management, and the implementation of designs that comply with industry standards," he explained.

This training not only discusses modeling techniques but also provides a comprehensive understanding of the functions and advantages of SolidWorks software, one of the most popular design software in the manufacturing and engineering industries," he added.
"With this training, it is hoped that lecturers can review the Advanced Part Modeling material in the form of a textbook that can be optimally utilized by participants, so that the knowledge gained will not only stop at certification but also improve the quality of learning and prepare students for the industrial world," he concluded.
