Babel State Polman, Holds Selection Program for Student Scholarships Abroad
Polman Babel - Politeknik Manufaktur Negeri Bangka Belitung is again opening opportunities for their students to continue their further studies abroad. This program collaborates with INTACT Base Taiwan through the International Industrial Talents Education Special Program (INTENSE Program) scholarship program. On Wednesday (28/05/24) 10 final semester students took part in the hybrid Join Admission Interview Session for the INTENSE Taiwan Program at the campus of Politeknik Manufaktur Negeri Bangka Belitung, Sungailiat Bangka.
The selection for this scholarship program has entered the virtual interview selection stage with the Taiwanese campus online. There were 5 Taiwan campuses that conducted interviews with the 10 Polmanbabel students. In the previous week, these students had taken part in an interview session with a companies that was a partner of the Taiwan campus that collaborating in this scholarship program.
Director of INTACT Base Bangka Belitung Supriyantono, BA., M.BA. revealed that there are five campuses that are destinations for Polman Babel students, including Chengsiu University, Chaoyang University of Technology, Mingshin University of Science and Technology, Taiwan Steel University of Science and Technology, and I-Shou University.
"This scholarship program is a new program launched by the Taiwanese Ministry of Education to recruit international talents from countries located south of Taiwan such as Indonesia, Vietnam, the Philippines, Malaysia and Cambodia," he said.
In Indonesia itself, the INTENSE program has succeeded in attracting students from all Polytechnics and Universities, both state and private, to register and get the opportunity to study in Taiwan.
Apart from that, this selection activity was carried out simultaneously from 24-31 May 2024 in three different locations, namely in Bangka Belitung, Jakarta and Surabaya.

"I hopes that the INTENSE scholarship program can help young Indonesian talents to study in Taiwan as well as get job opportunities at Taiwanese campus partner companies after completing this program," he said.
On the same occasion, Chairman of the Polman Babel Career and Collaboration Center, Ir. Dedy Ramdhani Harahap, M.Sc. (Eng) said that the INTENSE Taiwan scholarship program could be a solution for Polman Babel students who want to continue their studies abroad, this scholarship offers something that vocational students really need.
"This scholarship is a new breakthrough from the Taiwan scholarship management where the campuses collaborate with industry in Taiwan. Later, during the student's study period on campus, partner companies will provide assistance with living costs. Apart from that, in the final year of the student's study period there, they will receive an internship opportunity at the company," he added.
Dedy explained, after completing their education at the Taiwan campus, these students will be recruited with a 2 year work contract. "With the scholarship scheme provided, students apart from gaining knowledge and skills, also get the opportunity to work in companies that have partnered with the Taiwan campus through this program," he said.
He also hopes that students who have taken part in the interview selection and are declared successful, after completing this scholarship program, will be able to continue their studies to a further level (S2-S3) on campuses in Taiwan. "Hopefully this scholarship program will continue in the following years," stressed Dedy.
