Hope International Eyes Polman, State University of Babel, for Vocational Education Cooperation
A lively discussion between the ranks of Polman Negeri Babel and Hope International in the director's meeting room discussed opportunities for collaboration in vocational education and Chinese industry.
The State Manufacturing Polytechnic of Bangka Belitung (Polman Babel) demonstrated its prominence as a top university in Bangka Belitung. On Friday, May 8, 2026, Hope International visited, bridging the educational world with Chinese industry through vocational education.
The visit, held in the Polman Babel leadership meeting room, was warm and filled with a spirit of collaboration, as the meeting discussed opportunities for collaboration to support the need for a skilled workforce ready to compete in international industrialized countries.
The event was attended by the Director of Polman Babel, I Made Andik Setiawan, M.Eng., Ph.D., along with the campus leadership. Representatives from Hope International, who focus on education development and industry connections, were also present.
In his remarks, I Made Andik Setiawan, Director of Polman Babel, stated that "vocational education currently plays a crucial role in producing work-ready human resources who are able to keep up with developments in modern industrial technology."
Therefore, Polman Babel continues to be open to various forms of international collaboration to improve the quality of student education. This includes not only academics but also competency development, industrial internships, and job opportunities for graduates.
"This kind of collaboration is an important step in providing students with experience, enabling Polman Babel graduates to compete and possess competencies that meet industry needs," he explained.
I Made explained that Polman Babel has been actively building relationships with various companies and institutions, both domestic and international. This is part of the campus's efforts to strengthen practical and industry-based education," he said.
Meanwhile, representatives from Hope International explained that they chose Polman Babel as their vocational education partner because they believe it has significant potential to produce skilled workers needed by the growing Chinese industry in Indonesia.
Hope International even admitted to having conducted a review of campus activities. The results showed that Polman Babel is an active campus with extensive connections with various agencies and companies that regularly visit and collaborate with each other.
