Polman Negeri Babel Students Successfully Won Third Place in the 2026 Agrovolt LKTI Competition
The Agricultural Industrial Technology Engineering Student Association (HMJ Rektrip) of the Bangka Belitung State Manufacturing Polytechnic, the best university in Bangka Belitung, held the Agrovolt Scientific Writing Competition (LKTI) from April 11 to May 2, 2026, in a hybrid format.
This prestigious competition attracted 24 student teams from various universities, including Bogor Agricultural University (IPB), Medan State University, Diponegoro University, the University of North Sumatra, Hasanuddin University, Yogyakarta State University, Riau University, Jember University, Bangka Belitung University, Bandung State Polytechnic, Malang State Polytechnic, Subang State Polytechnic, Singaperbangsa University, Karawang, Muslim University of Indonesia, UPN Veteran East Java, Teknokrat Indonesia University, State Finance Polytechnic STAN, and other universities.
The Polman Babel team, comprised of Muhammad Khoirul Arifin, Darmawan Restu Sani, Arif Satiawan, and Viyola, won third place nationally in the 2026 Agrovolt Scientific Paper Competition (LKTI), which focused on environmentally friendly agriculture and technological innovation.
In an interview on Monday (May 11, 2026), Muhammad Khoirul Arifin explained that his team presented an innovation entitled "Utilization of Trichoderma spp. and Arthrobotys oligospora in sago husk compost for protection, increased plant growth, and production.
Arifin stated that the innovation was developed to utilize local materials and biological agents to support more environmentally friendly agriculture and improve plant growth, an innovation that can sustainably increase community agricultural production.
"The process from the project to the presentation was certainly not easy, as we had to balance our time between lectures, research, proposal preparation, and presentation preparation to compete with the best teams from various universities in Indonesia," he added.
Furthermore, during the competition, the team gained valuable experience, from practicing critical thinking skills, strengthening teamwork, to expanding relationships and insights with participants from various universities in other regions," he explained.
Furthermore, Arifin expressed his gratitude to the supervising lecturers, the HMJ Rektrip Polman Babel as the organizer, the university, the committee, and all parties who provided support throughout the competition. He expressed his hope that many students will be brave enough to participate and create innovations in agriculture and applied technology to contribute to society.
