Bosque Team Wins Best Idea Award in Cyber security Category

SUNGAILIAT_POLMANBABEL. The Bosque Team of the Bangka Belitung State Manufacturing Polytechnic (Polman Negeri Babel) won the Best Idea award in the National Polytechnic Informatics Student Competition (KMIPN) for the cyber security category, which was held by the Batam State Polytechnic, 2-3 August 2022.
Various categories of competitions that are competed in the competition include the categories of animation, innovation creation, game application development, hackathon, lottery, cyber security, ICT business design and e-government.
The team consisting of M. Bayu Fahariandi, M. Riyadi, and Hidayat and accompanied by their supervisor Riki Afriansyah, competed in the cyber security category, successfully qualifying for the finalist round after previously qualifying in the preliminary round.
Riki Afriansyah as the student supervisor in the competition said that the Polman Babel had participated in various stages of implementing activities scheduled by the organizers from the registration of proposals since last May to the online elimination process and the announcement of finalists on July 1, 2022.
He continued, the Bosque Team managed to enter the final round which was carried out directly at the Bangka Belitung State Manufacturing Polytechnic on 2-3 August 2022.
The participants of the 2022 KMIPN competition are registered and followed by a number of 628 teams from various polytechnics throughout Indonesia.
"The competition was held for 2 days, the second day the teams were in fourth position with a score of 700, and at the closing of the race, Alhamdulillah, the Bosque Team received the Best Idea award in this cybersecurity category," said Riki when confirmed, Thursday (04/08/2022).
In addition, Riki added that the cybersecurity category chosen by the bosque team is the practice of protecting digital assets during transmission, processing, and storage both on systems, networks, and services provided from unknown access or existing threats.
"This cybersecurity category tests the ability of participants to protect existing digital assets, both on systems, networks, and services provided on the network," he added.
Even though he hasn't won yet, Riki is also proud of the bosque team consisting of 3 students from the Software Engineering Technology Study Program (TRPL) who can achieve maximum results at this time by getting the Best Idea award.
"As a supervisor, I am very proud of the achievements of this team, even though I have not won but at least I have experience to continue to learn to be better and be ready to compete with students from other politics," said Riki.
"Hopefully next year, the Polman Babel will be the champion in the Cyber Security category and other categories," he continued.
The same thing was conveyed by the Director of the Polman Babel, I Made Andik Setiawan.
"Thank you and congratulations to the Polman Babel team for their achievements, hopefully the competition that is followed can motivate the students of the Polman Babel to compete in every competition," said Made.
He continued, currently the Polman Babel is also sending students to the 2022 Maritime National Week competition held by Hasanuddin University in Makassar, the competitions that are followed are prototype competitions and fast boat innovations without crews.
"Hopefully the competing teams will be able to bring the good name of the Polman Babel in innovation, have a good match and fight for the Polman team," said Made.(hms/or)
