Babel State Polman is increasingly recognized, Ranked 1st in Webometrics in Bangka Belitung and in the top 4 of national vocational polytechnics
The Bangka Belitung State Manufacturing Polytechnic (Polman Babel) scored a proud achievement by achieving 1st place in the Webometrics ranking for Bangka Belitung.
Not only that, Polman Babel also succeeded in occupying 4th position among all vocational polytechnics in Indonesia in 2024.
This achievement is clear evidence that Polman Babel is increasingly recognized in the world of digital-based vocational education.
Webometrics is a ranking system that assesses the presence, visibility and impact of a university in the digital world. The assessment indicators include the number of scientific publications, involvement in research, and the popularity of institutional websites in the global academic ecosystem.
With this achievement, Polman Babel shows its commitment to improving the quality of technology and innovation-based vocational education.
When met, Friday (31/01/2025) Deputy Director I Polman Babel, Irwan, Ph.D., said that this achievement was the result of the hard work of the entire academic community. We are very grateful for this achievement. "This is proof that Polman Babel continues to develop in academic, research and campus digitalization aspects," he said.
Irwan also said that this success cannot be separated from the strategies that have been implemented in the last few years. "We focus on strengthening digital infrastructure, improving the quality of scientific publications, and collaborating with various parties. All of this has a significant impact on campus rankings in Webometrics," he added.
Furthermore, he explained that the involvement of lecturers and students in the publication of scientific journals and the management of informative campus websites were also the main factors in boosting Polman Babel's position at the national level. "We continue to encourage lecturers and students to be more active in researching and publishing their scientific work," said Irwan.

In the future, Polman Babel is determined to continue to improve its quality so that it can be included in the ranks of the best polytechnics in Southeast Asia. "We not only want to excel at the national level, but also bring the name of Polman Babel to the international level. That is the target we are working towards," he stressed.
One of the Polman Babel lecturers was also proud of this achievement. Riki Afriansyah., M.T., said that this achievement further motivated them to continue to develop. "We are increasingly convinced that Polman Babel is the right place to gain knowledge and prepare ourselves to face the industrial world," he said.
Polman Babel also hopes for support from various parties, including government and industry, so that it can continue to innovate and develop. "Synergy between campuses, industry and government is the key to strengthening vocational education. We want to create graduates who are not only competent but also ready to compete globally," he concluded.
