Wahyudi, Polman Negeri Babel Student Wins Second Place in Provincial Level Bicycle Race
Not just a hobby, Wahyudi, a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering and Manufacturing student at Polman Negeri Babel, successfully won second place in the Bangka Belitung Province bicycle race championship in the 30 km IRR Elite category.
One of the students of the Bangka Belitung State Manufacturing Polytechnic (Polman Babel) has again made a brilliant achievement in the non-academic field. He won second place in the Bangka Belitung Provincial level bicycle race championship held on Saturday (05/24/2025).
The student is Wahyudi, a Bachelor of Applied Engineering student in the Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering Study Program. He competed in the IRR Elite category with a distance of 30 km which covered a route around the Governor's Office for three laps at high speed.
When confirmed on Monday (05/26/2025), Wahyudi revealed that his participation in the competition was motivated by a hobby that he had been pursuing for a long time. "After college, I routinely cycle with my friends. This has become a daily habit that I enjoy," he said.
Furthermore, he admitted that he was preparing himself to face the upcoming 2025 Bangka Belitung Provincial Bicycle Race Championship (Kajurprov). He hopes to be able to perform better and improve his ranking.
Not only that, Wahyudi also plans to take part in the duathlon competition that will be held at Pasir Padi Beach in the near future. He will compete in the general relay category, which combines running and cycling.
"Hopefully the Polman Babel campus can continue to provide support for students who excel, both in academic and non-academic fields," he hoped.
Responding to the achievements of his students, the Guardian Lecturer and supervising lecturer, Yudi Oktriadi, M.Eng., expressed his appreciation and support. He considered Wahyudi to be able to balance the academic world and positive activities outside campus.
"Non-academic achievements like this are very proud, especially if they can bring a good name to the campus at the provincial level," he said.
However, Yudi also reminded that Wahyudi is now in his final semester. He encouraged Wahyudi to remain focused on completing his final assignment and preparing himself for graduation and graduation.
