The Final Day of the High School/Vocational High School Visit to Polman Negeri Babel Inspired Students to Continue Their Studies
After two days of visits from various high schools and vocational schools to the Bangka Belitung State Manufacturing Polytechnic (Polman Babel), today, Thursday (10/16/2025), marked the conclusion of the series of activities held at the Polman Babel Hall.
On this final day, the campus hosted visits from four schools: Belinyu 1 State High School, Belinyu YPN Senior High School, Belinyu YPN Vocational High School, and Simpang Katis 1 State Vocational High School. The students enthusiastically participated in the activities prepared by the committee, from campus introduction sessions to tours of various learning facilities.
Somawardi, M.T., Head of Academic, Student Affairs, and Cooperation at Polman Babel, once again encouraged and motivated the participants. He encouraged the students to start planning their future by exploring the world of vocational education, which focuses on practical and industrial skills.
"If you study here, you will gain extraordinary knowledge because practical learning outweighs theory. When you work, you won't just need a diploma, but also interpersonal skills and technical abilities," he concluded.
Somawardi explained that Polman Babel is the only state vocational university in Bangka Belitung that focuses on engineering and manufacturing. He hopes students will make Polman Babel one of their higher education destinations after graduation," he added.

Meanwhile, Aprijal Manik, S.Pd., one of the accompanying teachers from SMK Negeri 1 Simpang Katis, explained that the visit provided the students with new insights into the world of higher education, which aligns with the engineering majors they are studying at school.
In addition to receiving an explanation of the campus profile and career prospects for graduates, the students were also taken on a campus tour. They were guided by Polman Babel students to visit several key facilities.
"The Joint Lecture Building, the Design Building, the Electronics Building, the Mechanical Workshop, and the Library," he admitted.
Furthermore, this visit had been long planned so that students could experience firsthand a hands-on learning environment outside of school. "Many of them expressed interest in continuing their studies, especially at the Polman Babel campus," he said.
With the conclusion of the third day of the visit, the series of high school/vocational high school educational visits to Polman Babel officially concluded. It is hoped that this activity will broaden the horizons of Bangka Belitung's young generation, enabling them to gain a deeper understanding of the vocational world and prepare them to become future experts and professionals.
