Closing of Student-e activities SMA/SMK students from 41 schools in Bangka Belitung packed the Bangka Belitung State Manufacturing Polytechnic Hall (Polman Babel) on Wednesday (16/10/2024).
They gathered to take part in Student-e activities, an event that provides academic insight to class XII students and introduces them more closely to the world of higher education.
Student-e was held as part of the Polman Babel program to prepare the younger generation to enter higher levels of education.
This event attracted the interest of students who wanted to know more about campus life and the academic opportunities available at Polman Babel.
Head of the Polman Babel Academic Administration, Student Affairs, Planning and Cooperation (BAAKPK) Unit, Somawardi, M.T., opened the event by giving an in-depth explanation of the academic programs offered by Polman Babel.
He explained that this campus has various study programs that are relevant to today's industrial needs.
Somawardi emphasized the importance of choosing education that suits your interests and talents.
"We hope that the students who attended today can make Polman Babel their main choice after graduating. "Education here does not only focus on theory, but also on real industrial practice," he said enthusiastically.
The students seemed enthusiastic about participating in every session presented. They were invited to ask questions about existing departments, such as the Department of Mechanical Engineering, the Department of Electrical Engineering and Agricultural Industry, and the Department of Informatics and Business to provide explanations and discuss directly with the students.
Apart from that, Deputy Director II of Polman Babel, Muhammad Subhan, M.T., also expressed his appreciation to the accompanying teachers who were also present to accompany their students.
"We are very grateful for the presence of the teachers who took the time to bring their students to this event.
"This is a good first step for them to get to know the world of college," he said.

On the sidelines of the event, Muhammad Subhan gave souvenirs as a sign of thanks to the teacher representatives who attended.
This gesture shows Polman Babel's appreciation for the role of teachers in guiding and directing students towards a bright future.
Student-e activities are also filled with campus tours, where students are taken around to see the facilities available, ranging from sophisticated laboratories to practical rooms equipped with modern industrial equipment.
This gives them a real picture of the learning environment at Polman Babel as one of the campus's efforts to bring the world of higher education closer to high school/vocational school students in Bangka Belitung.
"Through this event, we hope to provide inspiration and motivation for the younger generation to continue their education to a higher level and be ready to face future industrial challenges," he explained.
One of the students who attended, Rahayu admitted that he was very impressed with the facilities at Polman Babel.
“I am becoming increasingly interested in continuing my studies here. "The facilities are complete and seem very supportive for practical learning," he said admiringly.
