Bringing Honor to Their Alma Mater, Polman Negeri Babel Students Win Gold at SCI-FESTA Indonesia
An impressive achievement from students at the Bangka Belitung State Manufacturing Polytechnic (Polman Babel) has once again brought honor to their alma mater on the national stage.
Two students from the Undergraduate Program in Applied Software Engineering Technology won gold medals at the 2025 SCI-FESTA (Since Festival Indonesia).
This university-level competition brought together hundreds of participants from various universities across Indonesia. Mathematics is one of the most prestigious fields, demanding precision, logic, and high-level thinking.
This brilliant achievement was achieved by Muhamad Dikko Mulia Saputra, a first-semester student, and Moch Rizky, a third-semester student. Despite coming from different classes, the two were able to build a solid teamwork that led them to victory.
When confirmed, Monday (26/08/2025) the supervising lecturer, Riki Afriansyah, M.T., expressed his pride in his students' achievements and said that these results were inseparable from their enthusiasm, discipline, and consistent practice," he said.
Riki explained that the coaching process was carried out intensively through a structured training program. Students were guided to hone their analytical skills, time management, and competitive mentality to prepare them for the difficult challenges presented at the national level.
"Consistency is key, and we want students to become accustomed to a disciplined study pattern so that when they face the competition, they rely not only on their abilities but also on their mental preparedness," he explained.
For Muhamad Dikko Mulia Saputra, this event was both a first-hand experience and a valuable learning experience. He admitted that he struggled to balance his time between studying and preparing for the competition, but he overcame it thanks to the support and guidance of his supervisor.
"This competition was very challenging. Many of the problems required critical thinking and the right strategy for solving them. But I'm grateful to have overcome them all and brought home a gold medal for Polman Babel," he said.
Meanwhile, Moch Rizky emphasized teamwork in achieving victory. He believes their success was not just the result of individual effort, but also a combination of complementing each other's strengths.
"Let's fight together. This victory is optimistic and has great potential to compete at the national level, and our friends on campus must be motivated to participate in competitions and bring more awards to our beloved campus," he said.
