Avoiding Waste and Online Loans: State Polytechnic of Bangka Belitung Students Attend Financial Literacy Ambassador Training of Trainers
Five students from the Bangka Belitung State Manufacturing Polytechnic have been selected as Financial Literacy Ambassadors for the OJK (Financial Services Authority) in the Bangka Belitung Islands Province.
Five students from the Digital Business Applied Bachelor’s program at the Bangka Belitung State Manufacturing Polytechnic participated in a Training of Trainers (ToT) session for Financial Literacy Ambassadors, organized by the Bangka Belitung Islands Provincial Office of the Financial Services Authority (OJK) on Thursday (August 6, 2026).
The five students—Anggun Dwi Putri, Dilla Ifvani, Zharfasha Iqbar Mazkiya, Sukma Ferdianyah Saputra, and Raden Ganianda Regina Puteri—were nominated following a suitability selection process conducted by their lecturers.
Speaking on Thursday (August 27, 2026), one of the students, Raden Ganianda Regina Puteri, explained that her participation stemmed from an invitation by a lecturer teaching a course related to financial literacy and management. She noted that the training offered practical experience and knowledge regarding financial management—including proper financial handling and strategies to avoid financial risks, particularly those associated with unwise use of online loans (pinjol).
She added that the one-day training, which covered both theory and practice, not only provided an understanding of financial management but also encouraged students to improve their financial planning skills—skills that could be applied in their daily lives and shared with their peers on campus.
“ Use your money wisely; avoid wasting it on non-essential things,” he added.
Another student, Sukma Ferdianyah Saputra, shared that the Financial Literacy Ambassador Training of Trainers (ToT) provided a valuable opportunity to gain additional knowledge regarding financial management.
Sukma intends to use the material provided to evaluate his own habits—specifically his tendency to spend money wastefully and without a plan—and hopes to apply the knowledge gained during the training while also sharing it with fellow students on campus.
Separately, Eko Wijaya, Head of the OJK (Financial Services Authority) for the Bangka Belitung Islands Province, commented on the ToT event, noting that students from Polman Babel participated in the entire program enthusiastically and effectively, as evidenced by their strong interest in developing their financial planning and management skills.
Eko further noted that the active engagement of the Polman Babel students during the learning process demonstrated a strong commitment to implementing financial literacy activities based on the material they had acquired.
