SUNGAILIAT_POLMANBABEL. The Men's Volley Ball Team of the Bangka Belitung State Manufacturing Polytechnic (Polman Negeri Babel) won 3rd place in the ISB Atma Luhur open tournament championship.
The team's victory was after winning a match against volleyball during the match to win third place with a score of 3 - 0 on August 20, 2022 yesterday, previously losing in the semi-finals against Bareco with a score of 2-3.
Polmanbabel volleyball coach, Ropi Suwandi, said that the volleyball team had achieved the initial target of entering the semi-finals in this championship.
"Our initial target is to enter the semi-finals. Alhamdulillah, we have achieved the target and won third place," said Ropi when handing over the trophy to the Polman Negeri Babel, Tuesday (23/08/2022).
He predicts that the Polman Negeri Babel volleyball team can enter the top four, but to enter the finals, it still needs to struggle because the competition category is for general class, not student class.
According to him, the players played very well when they won third place so they could achieve three sets of victory at once.
"The team played very well, enjoyed it, and there was no burden when competing, thank you to all the teams for playing well," said Ropi.
Ropi hopes for students who are included in the Polman Negeri Babel volleyball team to keep the team cohesive in every match and keep practicing regularly, don't be too satisfied with this achievement because there are still many other matches to be faced.
Polman Negeri Babel sent a men's volleyball team consisting of students and alumni in the ISB Atma Luhur open tournament championship for the general class category.
Currently the Polman Negeri Babel will also prepare for an inter-college competition in Bangka Belitung which will be held in the near future, Ropi explained that the Polman Negeri Babel institution also supports students in developing themselves in the field of volleyball.
"Later there will be a competition between students or specifically for students in Bangka Belitung, the plan is in the tenth month," said Ropi.
"Our team will also prepare students for the event, and will later see the potential of these talented new students in volleyball," he added.
Meanwhile, Deputy Director of Polman Negeri Babel, Eko Sulistyo, appreciated and was proud of the success of the Polman Negeri Babel men's volleyball team in winning the ISB Atma Luhur open tournament championship.
"Being able to achieve third place is a very good honor that we need to appreciate, because first the competition is not between students but general participants," said Eko.
"I support the highest and thank you to the coaches, coaches and team players who have made it this far, hopefully in the future it can be improved even more, we hope that the level of students in Bangka Belitung can reach first place," said Eko.
Eko also said that the Volley Ball sports team at Polman Negeri Babel is one of the Student Activity Units (UKM) which is fostered and trained for student self-development.
He hopes that students can develop their potential in non-academics by participating in various student activities on campus because those who have the potential and talent will be included in various championships both locally and outside the region.
"Our policy and support for UKM in Polman Negeri Babel is the same, we support student self-development through UKM, we hope every UKM has achievements by participating in tournaments that are regional, provincial and national, including the Porseni," said Eko.
"Previously, the Polman Negeri Babel also sent sand volleyball at the Porseni event in Banjarmasin last July, it has also entered the top eight at the polytechnic level," he added.
"This achievement needs to be boosted again, maybe it can be included in Pomnas, because Pomnas can represent the Bangka Belitung Islands region," he continued.
In addition to the third place winner in the Atma Luhur tournament, Eko said that Polman Negeri Babel volleyball also won third place in the Nusa Cup 1 general match which was held at the Sungailiat Bangka Sub-district Harbor last March. (hms/oln)
