SUNGAILIAT - POLMANBABEL. The practice of network and data communication courses for students of the Software Engineering Study Program (TRPL) of the Bangka Belitung State Polytechnic of Manufacturing (Polman Babel) was carried out by PT. Mora Telematics Indonesia (Moratelindo) in the meeting room of the student center building, Wednesday 15 June 2023.
Lecturer for the course, Yang Agita Rindri, M.Eng, said that the practice of this course was attended by two classes, namely class 2TPRL A and 2 TRPL B, totaling around eighty students.
He continued, so far Polman Babel students, especially the TRPL Study Program, received lecture material from the campus or campus lecturers, but this time the students received practical lecture material from practitioners directly from Moratelindo whose business is engaged in networking and communication.
"This time, we are partnering with experienced practitioners, namely PT Moratelindo. The practitioner lecturers are instructors from industry or business actors," said Yang Agita (14/6).
Yang Agita added that the practical material for this lecture lasted for two and a half hours delivered by an expert on fiber optic networks, and the previous week Moratelindo had also filled out theoretical material in this course.
The lecturer and secretary of the electronics and informatics engineering department also thanked moratelindo and the fiber optic team for their willingness to demonstrate data network practices.
Complementary courses from practicing lecturers or business actors have been carried out by Polman Babel from the previous year, as in last semester the network and data communication courses invited from the Central Sumsel Babel Bank.
According to Yang Agita, involving business or industry actors is very good for students because they not only get theory and practice from campus but also get applied knowledge directly from practitioners.
"Hopefully this practical activity will be useful for TRPL students," he said.
Meanwhile, the Account Manager of PT. Moratelindo, Sri Linda Susanti said this activity was in the context of implementing the Babel Polman cooperation which has been running for three years in the field of internet networks.
In addition, Moratelindo and Polman Babel are collaborating to increase student capacity such as public lectures, practical lecturers which are currently being held.
"The practical material this time is about internet networks, fiber optics, tools delivered by the Moratelindo team of experts who usually work in the field," said Linda.
"In theory, we have given the material to students, now we are introducing product tools and practices," he added.According to him, this practical activity is very useful for students so that they can find out the real conditions in the field regarding internet networks, where these conditions cannot be found in college.
Linda was also very happy to see Polman Babel students enthusiastically participating in this activity. Many asked questions and wanted to know more about the internet network and future prospects.
He continued that the theoretical activities of practicing lecturers had been running since last year, while this activity was a practice from Moratelindo which was the first time it had been carried out in Polman Babel.
"In the future we hope that activities like this will continue and for other collaborations as well because Polman Babel is our partner," he concluded. (hms)
