IEEE SMC 2024 Conference, Ali Rospawan, M.Sc. from the Babel State Polman Take Home a Prestigious Award
Kuching, Sarawak, Malaysia — Bangka Belitung State Manufacturing Polytechnic (Polman Babel) lecturer, Ali Rospawan,M.Sc., won a prestigious award at the 2024 IEEE International Conference on Systems, Humans and Cybernetics (SMC).
This event took place from 6 to 10 October at the Borneo Convention Center Kuching, Sarawak, Malaysia.
The conference with the theme Sustainable Future, Harmonization of Humanity and Technology for a Developing World attracts academics, researchers and professionals from all over the world to discuss the latest innovations and technology.
Ali Rospawan's participation in this event was a source of pride for Polman Babel and the Indonesian academic community.
Professor Dr. Syed Abdul Rahman Al-Haddad, General Chair of IEEE SMC 2024, said that this year's conference focuses heavily on the application of technology in improving human welfare.
"This conference offers a variety of activities, from keynote speeches, panel discussions, to technical sessions and poster presentations, all of which aim to encourage collaboration and innovation," he said.
As the host city, Kuching also provides a unique atmosphere for the participants. "Kuching, with its rich culture and friendly people, is the perfect place to bring together brilliant ideas in designing a sustainable technological future," added Professor Dr. Syed Abdul Rahman Al-Haddad.

Ali Rospawan.,M.Sc. expressed his gratitude for the award he received. "This award is not only a motivation for me, but also proves that Polman Babel has great potential to contribute to the global realm, especially in the field of systems and cybernetics," he said.
With this award, Ali hopes to further inspire his students and fellow lecturers to continue to innovate. He also expressed his commitment to continue developing useful knowledge, both on campus and internationally.
“Through participating in this conference, I see the importance of synergy between humans and technology to achieve a better future. "Hopefully in the future, more international collaborations can be established and involve more parties from Indonesia," continued Ali enthusiastically.
Meanwhile, Director of Polman Babel I Made Andik Setiawan, M.Eng., Ph.D. fully supports its lecturers in achieving further achievements on the global stage.
"We are proud of Mr. Ali's achievements and hope that this can be a motivation for the entire Polman Babel academic community to participate in research and development of globally competitive technology," he said.
