UKKRIS Maranatha Polmanbabel Carry out Social Services to the Yakabi Orphanage, Sunday April 16, 2023
Sungailiat_Polmanbabel. One of the Student Activity Units of the Bangka Belitung State Manufacturing Polytechnic (Polman Negeri Babel) which is part of the Maranatha Polmanbabel Christian Student Spiritual Unit (UKKRIS) conducted social service activities at the Yakabi Orphanage on Sunday, April 16, 2023.
The Chief Executive of this social service activity, Alvin said the social service agenda was in commemoration of Easter 2023.
Apart from that, according to Alvin, this is a routine agenda from UKKRIS Maranatha Polman Negeri Babel, as a form of concern for students from the Polman Negeri Babel for the children at the Yakabi Sungailiat Orphanage.
He continued, the activity started at 10.00 WIB and was opened with a joint prayer service, fans games and distribution of food assistance and gift packages for orphanage children and closed with a joint meal and group photos with administrators, orphanage children and UKKRIS Polmanbabel students.
According to Alvin, activities like this can open up insights for students to be able to help others, especially children in orphanages.
He said currently, the children of the Yakabi orphanage which is located at Jl. Raya Rebo, Air Kenanga Sungailiat Village, has a total of 16 people consisting of 14 people still attending elementary, middle and high school and 2 people who have graduated.
"We want this to become a routine agenda every year from UKKRIS Maranatha," explained Alvin (18/04/2023).
The costs incurred for this activity were donations from UKKRIS Polmanbabel students, coaches and donors.
Meanwhile, UKKRIS Trustees Maranatha Polmanbabel appreciated the social service activities carried out by UKM Polman Babel students who cared for others.
"We are very appreciative, it turns out that Polmanbabel students are very concerned about helping the children at the Yakabi Orphanage," said Robert Napitupulu as the supervisor of UKKRIS Maranatha Polmanbabel when confirmed.
He continued, the looks on the faces of the orphanage children looked very happy from the moment they arrived until the end of this event.
"They are very enthusiastic about participating in every event that has been arranged by students" he said.
The activity was closed and ended at 13.00 WIB and then UKKRIS Polmanbabel students returned to their respective homes.
