UKM English Club Polman Babel Holds EC Road 2024 at Rambak Beach, Carrying the Theme "Voices for the Planet"

SUNGAILIAT_POLMANBABEL. The English Club Student Activity Unit (UKM) of the Bangka Belitung State Manufacturing Polytechnic held the annual English Club Road (EC Road) 2024 activity at Rambak Beach, Sungailiat, on Saturday (9/11/2024). This activity, which took place from 09.00 to 17.00 WIB, was attended by all UKM members, including new students, active administrators and departing staff.
Chair of the UKM English Club, Moeylia Friandima, said that the main event of EC Road this year was the Poster Presentation competition with the theme "Voices for the Planet".
"The aim of holding this competition is to invite every UKM member to have the awareness to voice the role of students in protecting the environment," he said (9/11).
In this competition, participants were divided into teams consisting of two people to create and present their posters, the scoring system was carried out through voting by all participants present.
Based on the results of voting carried out by all participants present, the couple Desvira Yasmitasari and Micco Aureldo, Devia and Giovani, as well as the couple Aidil and Hari became the champions in this poster presentation competition.
Melky Mayfarel, 1st semester student, TRPL A class who participated in the competition, said that this activity was very beneficial for new students.
"This activity helps us get to know and build relationships with fellow members. EC Road is an attraction for us to remain active in the UKM English Club," he said.
Apart from the poster competition, the EC Road event was also filled with various other activities such as introducing new members, eating together and sharing sessions. The sharing session activity was hosted by Muhammad Zikri, former chairman of UKM EC for the 2022 period, who shared experiences about the MBKM program and tips for participating in the National Polytechnic English Olympic (NPEO).
UKM English Club supervisor, Shanty Dwi Krishnaningsih, S.S., M.Hum., expressed his hope that this activity could have a positive impact on the environment.
"Every year we always hold this activity with a different theme. This year we have the theme of caring for the environment. I hope that students can also practice caring for the environment, starting with keeping Rambak Beach clean," he explained.
To increase familiarity between participants, the committee also held a balloon volleyball competition which was played in groups of five people. This activity is one way to strengthen ties between new and old UKM English Club members. (ukm_release)
