Teachers and Students of MIN 1 Elementary School in Pangkalpinang Select Polman Negeri Babel for Campus Visit Program
It was truly impressive for the Bangka Belitung State Manufacturing Polytechnic (Polman Babel) to receive an educational visit from students of SD MIN Negeri 1 Pangkalpinang on Tuesday (November 18, 2025).
The visit was attended by 25 sixth-grade students and seven accompanying teachers. Upon arrival at campus, the group was warmly welcomed by Polman Babel staff before being directed to the presentation room.
Somawardi, M.T., Head of Academic, Student Affairs, and Cooperation at Polman Babel, opened the event with a lighthearted presentation introducing the campus, deliberately interspersing jokes to keep the atmosphere relaxed and enjoyable for the students.
In his presentation, Somawardi introduced an overview of Polman Babel, including study programs, learning facilities, and campus activities. "The interactive presentation made it easier for students to understand the information," he said.
In addition to giving a presentation, Somawardi also opened a question-and-answer session, where each student who answered questions received a reward for their courage and curiosity about college.
"It's amazing. You've been dreaming of college since elementary school, and your teachers have supported you," Somawardi praised.

One of the accompanying teachers, Evi, revealed that this was their first visit to a campus, although there are several universities in Pangkalpinang. Polman Babel was chosen because of its appeal.
This interest arose after observing campus activities and information on social media and the official Polman Babel website, noting that it has a unique character that sets it apart from other campuses.
"After visiting in person, I learned that the practical aspects of the lectures here are much more than the theoretical ones. This made me even more impressed, as graduates have strong opportunities to immediately find employment or even start their own businesses," she admitted.

Following the presentations, the students were taken on a campus tour, accompanied by several students from each department. They were introduced to the mechanical workshop, electronics building, joint lecture hall, and precision agriculture practice areas like the greenhouse. "The visit to Polman Babel was a new and enjoyable experience," she emphasized.
