Reaching the Final, the Babel State Polytechnic Futsal Club Secures Runner-Up Spot at the Babel Regional Police Campus Mini Soccer Tournament
The Futsal Student Activity Unit (UKM) team from the Bangka Belitung State Manufacturing Polytechnic (Polman Babel) secured second place in the Babel Campus Mini Soccer tournament held at the Bangka Belitung Regional Police (Polda) Bhaypark field on Friday (October 2, 2026).
The tournament saw participation from various higher education institutions across Bangka Belitung. In addition to Polman Babel, other participating institutions included Pertiba, Bangka Belitung University (UBB), IAIN, Unaba, ICI, Atma Luhur, Poltekkes, Institut Pahlawan 12, and UBBM Babel.
When contacted on Monday (October 5, 2026), Zildjian Akbar, a player from the Polman Babel Futsal team, expressed pride in the achievement. "It was a highly valuable experience for me and the team; naturally, we feel happy and grateful, even though we didn't quite manage to take first place," he said.
The team's journey to the final was far from easy, as every match demanded teamwork, cohesion, spirit, and mental resilience. The Polman Babel team also had to contend with a number of formidable opponents.
“Thanks to hard work, support from the coach, and the cohesion of the entire team, we were able to reach the final round and secure second place,” he said.

Zildjian noted that this achievement goes beyond just trophies or titles; the tournament provided students with valuable experience, fostered camaraderie, and offered lessons that serve as motivation for future growth.
He added that this accomplishment would encourage both him and his teammates to keep training, improve their skills, and strive for even greater achievements.
Meanwhile, Zika Lorika, the coach of the Polman Babel Futsal Student Activity Unit (UKM), expressed gratitude for the support provided by the unit's supervisors and all those who facilitated the team's participation—ranging from handling player permits to arranging transportation to the match venue.
“Most importantly, victory isn't everything; the process leading up to it is what truly matters. Despite previous attempts and setbacks, we were—thankfully—able to reach the final this time, even though we didn't quite achieve the ultimate victory in the championship match,” he stated.

Equally exciting is the players' development throughout the training and match process; this is a source of pride in itself, as the final result is not the sole measure of a team's success.
"Winning is merely a bonus; the most important thing is maintaining an unyielding spirit until the very end," he emphasized.
Zika added that Polman Babel’s achievement of second place was the result of the entire team's hard work and cooperation in navigating inter-campus competition in Bangka Belitung. Success was not achieved overnight but through a process involving training, cohesion, spirit, and each player's commitment to delivering their best performance. Furthermore, the experience was invaluable for the Polman Babel Futsal Student Activity Unit (UKM) members, helping them improve their skills, maintain team unity, and prepare for future sporting competitions.
