Struggling on the Decisive Day, 264 Prospective Students of Polman Negeri Babel Take the Independent Competency Test
Prospective students took the National Student Admissions Competency Test (SNPMB) for the Independent Pathway, held by the Bangka Belitung State Manufacturing Polytechnic (Polman Babel) on Saturday (July 19, 2025).
The event, attended by 264 participants, took place in the Joint Lecture Building and marked the final stage of this year's new student admissions selection process.

The campus atmosphere was filled with enthusiasm from the participants since morning. They appeared optimistic as they completed the registration process and entered the exam room in an orderly manner. This competency test is one of the final determinants of their chances of securing a place at this leading vocational university in Bangka Belitung.
The Head of the Polman Babel New Student Admissions Team, Andyka, S.E., explained in the test room that this test was the final stage of the entire independent pathway selection process.
"This is the final wave, and we hope all participants can give their best performance," he said.
Andyka also stated that the committee had prepared the entire process thoroughly. "Everything from preparing the exam rooms and proctors to the assessment system has been designed to ensure a smooth and objective implementation. He also emphasized that integrity remains a priority in this selection process," he said.
"With this, successful participants will join hundreds of other new students from various admission pathways. We are preparing a positive campus orientation and building strong vocational character from the start," he added.

Riki Afriansyah, M.T., a member of the selection team from among lecturers, also emphasized the importance of this competency test as an indicator of participants' readiness to pursue vocational higher education.
"We are looking for students who are not only academically intelligent but also have a strong motivation to develop in the technology and manufacturing fields," he explained.
Furthermore, Riki added that the assessment is not solely based on cognitive scores, but also examines attitude and discipline throughout the selection process.
"Character values are also a priority for us," he emphasized.
At the same time, as supervisor, Adi Prima stated that Polman Babel is known as one of the leading vocational universities in the Bangka Belitung region, focusing on the development of applied technology and orienting towards industry.
This rigorous selection process is part of the campus's effort to attract the best talent from various regions," he said.

Meanwhile, one of the participants, Hendra Maulana, expressed his gratitude for being able to participate in the selection process. "I'm happy to take this test. I hope I pass and am accepted as a Polman Babel student," he said.
Hendra admitted that he had prepared himself by studying and maintaining his health to perform optimally. He revealed that becoming a Polman Babel student has been his long-time dream.
"If I pass, I will study hard, comply with campus regulations, and of course, I want to make my parents proud by graduating," he concluded.
