Babel State Polman TRPL Students Win Second Place in the 2024 UBB BMC Competition with Batik Cual Barcode Innovation
Students from the Software Engineering Study Program (TRPL) of the Bangka Belitung State Manufacturing Polytechnic (Polman Babel) have once again made achievements at the regional level. This time, in the 2024 Business Model Canvas (BMC) event organized by Bangka Belitung University (UBB), they succeeded in showing their abilities and creativity.
The competition with the theme Cultivating Innovation and Sustainability in Agribusiness took place on Monday (09/09/2024) and was attended by participants from various educational institutions in the Bangka Belitung region.
In this competition, two TRPL students, Juliarti Safitri and Rahma Cahyani, displayed their innovative product called Batik Cual Bercode. This product is a combination of local culture and technology, where typical Bangka Belitung batik is equipped with a QR code. The QR code can be scanned to provide additional information regarding batik motifs, philosophy and the manufacturing process, thus offering a new experience for batik lovers.
Juliarti and Rahma managed to win second place in the competition. The Cual Coded Batik innovation not only elevates local cultural values, but also introduces a new way of bringing people, especially the younger generation, closer to cultural heritage through an interactive technological approach.
Their supervisor, Riki Afriansyah, M.T., expressed his appreciation for the achievements achieved by his two students. "This achievement is proof of the collaboration between technology and culture. Students have succeeded in showing that local wisdom can be promoted through modern and innovative approaches," said Riki when met in his office on Thursday (12/09/2024).
Riki also hopes that this achievement will be a motivation for other students at Polman Babel to continue to innovate. "I hope this is the start of more innovations that we can push forward, especially those that can have a positive impact on local communities and promote our rich culture." he said.
Collaboration between lecturers and students, according to Riki, is one of the key factors that supports the birth of creative ideas that have great potential.
"With full support from the institution and good cooperation between students and lecturers, I am sure there will be more innovative ideas born from Polman Babel," he added.
Meanwhile, Juliarti Safitri expressed her pride in this achievement. "We are very happy and proud to be able to bring home second place. This is a big motivation for us to continue working and produce other innovations that are beneficial to society," said Juliarti enthusiastically.
Rahma Cahyani, his teammate, also added that this achievement could not be separated from the hard work and support they received. "We are very grateful for this opportunity. We hope that Cual Coded Batik products can be more widely known and become an inspiration for the development of other innovations in the technology-based agribusiness sector," he said.
This achievement is also an encouragement for other TRPL students to be more active in innovating and having a positive impact on society, both in terms of technology and cultural preservation.
