Again, TRPL Students Win First Place in the Olivia Contest
SUNGAILIAT_POLMANBABEL. On the day of the Youth Pledge, the Students from the Software Engineering Technology Study Program (TRPL) of the Bangka Belitung State Manufacturing Polytechnic (Polman Babel) presented the first runner-up in the 2022 Indonesian Vocational Olympiad (OLIVIA) competition held by Yogyakarta State University on Friday, 28 October 2022 .
Two teams from Polman Babel who took part in this prestigious competition were Team Shell, they were Micco, Juanda, Novramdhan, Devid, and Team Asakawayo consisting of Reddy, Raihan, Ikmal, Dandi.
The two teams, guided by Riki Afriansyah, M.T, qualified for the finalists of the OLIVIA competition in the field of Website Design.
"Alhamdulillah, 2 Polman Babel teams have qualified for the final round, there are 10 finalists from various campuses in Indonesia, Polmanbabel is one of them," said Riki Afriansyah as the supervisor of Polman Babel when confirmed (29/10).
Riki also said that 513 participating teams participated in the Olympics, and as many as 103 participating teams were declared to have passed from 7 categories to proceed to the final round.
"The preliminary for the Finalist Round was held on October 28, 2022 yesterday online," he said.
After the announcement on Saturday night, the Asakawayo Team won first place in the website design field.
Riki who is also the Head of the Information Systems Unit for Polman Babel, is very grateful and proud of the TRPL students, especially for those who are confident and want to appear in every event outside and compete with other campuses.
"Alhamdulillah, the Asakawayo Team became the 1st place winner with rivals from big campuses. Hopefully in another event the Software Engineering Technology Study Program (TRPL) of the Polman Negeri Babel can be the champion," said Riki.
According to him, competitions like this are a medium or facility for students to hone the skills they have learned in lectures, and hopefully Polmanbabel students can take part again or even better in the future.
He continued, Polman Babel can also organize events like this so that students can express their creativity and abilities so that what they get is not kept to themselves and can be useful for many people.
"I always guide and motivate students, to take part in existing IT competitions because by participating in competitions like this, we will have valuable experience to become better and get out of the safe and comfortable zone," said Riki
"Don't be a student who has too many styles, but be a student who has a lot of work," he added.
Meanwhile, one of the Asakawayo teams, Reddy Ibrahim, said he was very impressed when he participated in the 2022 Indonesian Vocational Olympiad for the website design competition.
According to him, in addition to gaining experience, the ability to develop competitive strategies is also increasing, especially for Website Design with the sub-theme of Digital Economic Marketing.
"Here, we get new things such as the ability to utilize technology such as plugins, features, and so on" said Reddy
"In general, we get ideas and new inputs in researching community needs to be used for their uses," he added (hms).
