From Past to Future, Polman Babel Alumni Grand Reunion Becomes a Turning Point
The State Manufacturing Polytechnic of Bangka Belitung (Polman Babel) revived the spirit of togetherness through a grand reunion entitled Strong Alumni, Great Campus which was held on Saturday, (05/04/2025) in the Main Hall Building. This event was a warm momentum that brought together hundreds of alumni across generations.
No half measures, more than 400 alumni from classes 1 to 28 attended to enliven this event. They came from various regions and professional backgrounds to reconnect, reminisce about their college days, and unite their energy for the progress of their beloved alma mater.
The event was opened enthusiastically by the Chairperson of the Polman Timah - Polman Babel Alumni Association (IAPT-Babel), Muhammad Ihsan, M.B.A. In his remarks, Ihsan expressed the importance of this reunion as an initial step to reactivate the role and existence of alumni through the IKA Polman Timah - Polman Babel.
"We want to make alumni not just memories, but a real force that contributes to the campus and society. This reunion is the starting point for that," he said.
Ihsan also hopes that this activity can become a routine and sustainable agenda. He emphasized that the strength of an institution is not only determined by its current students, but also by its solid and active alumni network.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Reunion Committee, Pristiansyah, M.Eng., said that this event was an invaluable gathering event between alumni and the campus academic community.
"We want to strengthen the synergy between alumni and the campus. This close relationship will be a strong foundation for the progress of Polman Babel," he explained.
He also added that this reunion was not just a reunion, but also a strategic forum to share experiences, open up opportunities for collaboration, and initiate real contributions to the campus, both in the form of mentoring, training, and alumni recruitment," he added.
The event was lively with friendly sessions, entertainment, and screenings of documentary videos of Polman's journey from time to time. The atmosphere became even warmer when the alumni took the stage and shared inspiring stories about their careers and struggles after college.
Not a few alumni proposed follow-up programs such as alumni back to campus, scholarships from alumni for active students, to the formation of joint business units. These ideas were warmly welcomed by the committee and campus leaders who were also present.
