During a Spectacular Visit, Polman Negeri Babel Was Flooded with Students from SMK Negeri 1 Simpang Katis
The auditorium of the Bangka Belitung State Manufacturing Polytechnic (Polman Babel) suddenly became lively on Monday (November 24, 2025). A total of 106 students from SMK Negeri 1 Simpang Katis attended, accompanied by their teachers, for an educational visit to the state vocational school campus in Bangka Belitung.
The group was also accompanied by Dr. Wahyudi Himawan, S.Si., M.T., representative of the Pangkalpinang and Central Bangka Branch Office (Cabdin) Region 1. The students were greeted by Eko Sulistyo, M.T., Deputy Director III of Polman Babel, along with members of the Academic, Student Affairs, and Cooperation Division (BAKK).
Eko Sulistyo opened the event by giving a welcome speech and providing an overview of Polman Babel, noting the enthusiasm of the students, who have shown interest in vocational education since their vocational school days. "These students seemed very enthusiastic about visiting Polman Babel, even though they are still at the vocational high school level. This is commendable," he said.
Eko explained that vocational education plays a crucial role in preparing young people to be work-ready, excel in skills, and possess competencies that meet industry needs.
"Not only that, this visit can broaden the students' horizons about educational options after graduation, which will undoubtedly be Polman Babel," he explained.
Meanwhile, Dr. Wahyudi Himawan delivered a touching motivational message to the students, explaining that continuing education after graduating from vocational high school is a crucial step for their future.
"When you graduate, don't hesitate to go to college. If you stop at vocational high school, you'll regret it, especially if you want to work in government or private institutions," he advised.
Wahyudi also emphasized that economic circumstances are no longer the main barrier to continuing education, given the numerous scholarships and educational pathways available to vocational high school graduates. He hoped that students would dare to dream and strive for greater heights in achieving their futures," he added.

After the presentation, the group of students was taken on a tour of the campus to see firsthand the laboratories, workshops, lecture halls, and academic environment at Polman Babel. This campus tour was a favorite among the students, as they were able to witness firsthand the practical learning process.
