Bangka Belitung State Polytechnic Porseni Team Inaugurated, Ready to Compete in Porseni XV 2026 at Medan State Polytechnic

The Bangka Belitung State Manufacturing Polytechnic (Polman Babel) officially inaugurated the student team set to compete in the 15th Sports and Arts Week (Porseni XV) 2026 at the Medan State Polytechnic on Wednesday (July 22, 2026).
The Polman Babel team is scheduled to participate in a series of Porseni XV events running from July 24 to August 1, 2026, at the Medan State Polytechnic. Six students have been selected to represent this leading vocational campus from Bangka Belitung, showcasing their best abilities in sports and arts across four categories: men's beach volleyball, women's beach volleyball, on-the-spot photography, and men's track athletics.
The team's inauguration was led by the Director of Polman Babel, I Made Andik Setiawan, M.Eng., Ph.D., accompanied by Deputy Director III, Eko Sulistyo, M.T. In preparation for the games, the students received guidance from coaches Febriyanto Setiawan, A.Md., and Ropi Suwandi.
In his address, I Made Andik Setiawan emphasized that the students traveling to Porseni are institutional representatives bearing the responsibility of upholding Polman Babel's reputation. "You will be meeting participants from various higher education institutions from other regions, so your attitude and behavior during the competition must reflect well on the campus," he explained.
Furthermore, I Made urged all participants to give their best in every match and contest. "The student learning process does not take place solely within the classroom; it is also gained through experiences in various activities—including competitions—which hone skills, knowledge, mental resilience, and adaptability," he stated.
Beyond striving for achievement, the students were reminded to uphold sportsmanship, patience, friendship, and harmony among participants and institutions.
"Porseni is not merely a venue for seeking victory, but an opportunity for positive exchange of ideas, broadening horizons, and building good relationships with students from various higher education institutions," he asserted.
Sugito, a student competing in the men's beach volleyball event, expressed his happiness and pride at the opportunity to represent Polman Babel at Porseni 2026. He described it as a memorable experience, especially given that he had previously participated in a similar event in 2024, and this year marked his final chance to compete as a student.
He noted that winning and losing are simply part of the game; as an athlete representing the campus, he is committed to giving his best to uphold Polman Babel's reputation at the national level.
"Hopefully, all the events we are participating in this year will yield the best results—particularly men's beach volleyball, which we hope will bring home a medal just as it did at Porseni 2024," he emphasized.
Meanwhile, Elsa Syahputri, a participant in the "on-the-spot" photography category, described her participation in Porseni as a valuable experience. She noted that it offered a chance to gain experience, hone her skills, boost her self-confidence, and cultivate a spirit of sportsmanship.
Elsa further remarked that the competition results are not the sole measure of success but rather a source of motivation for continued growth. She views any outcome that falls short of expectations as an opportunity for evaluation—a chance to learn and address shortcomings. With this mindset, the Polman Babel Porseni team aims to deliver its best performance and uphold the institution's reputation while competing in Porseni XV 2026 at the State Polytechnic of Medan.
