The Babel State Polytechnic Obtains 18 Patents, Prepares 22 New Titles, and Strengthens Cooperation Through an MoU with the Babel Regional Office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights.

The Bangka Belitung State Manufacturing Polytechnic (Polman Babel) has further expanded its collaborative network by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Regional Office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights of the Bangka Belitung Islands. The signing took place at the Polman Babel Joint Lecture Building on Monday (November 24, 2025), focusing on optimizing legal services and strengthening the implementation of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education.
The event was attended by the Director of Polman Babel, I Made Andik Setiawan, M.Eng., Ph.D., representatives of the lecturers, and staff from the Regional Office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights of the Bangka Belitung Islands. The academic and collaborative atmosphere was felt from the beginning, marking both institutions' efforts to improve service quality and innovation.
In his remarks, the Director of Polman Babel highlighted the institution's impressive achievements in the field of intellectual property. This year, Polman Babel has successfully patented 18 innovative works. "The previous year, in 2024, we had 5 patented titles and currently there are still 22 titles in the submission process with the results of extraordinary struggles from fellow lecturers," he said.
I Made also expressed his gratitude for the visit from the Regional Office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights, calling it a crucial opportunity to strengthen ongoing collaboration.
"Welcome back to the Polman Babel campus. We are very grateful to be given the opportunity to continue collaborating," he said.
Meanwhile, the Head of the Regional Office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights for the Bangka Belitung Islands, Johan Manurung, S.H., M.H., praised Polman Babel's achievements in patent management, adding that the lecturers' enthusiasm for producing innovative work is worthy of support and maintenance.
Johan also encouraged lecturers who have not yet registered their innovations to immediately utilize the available intellectual property services, and the Ministry of Law and Human Rights is ready to facilitate and provide the necessary assistance," he said.
Furthermore, this collaboration is expected to be a new milestone in increasing awareness and understanding among the Polman Babel academic community regarding the importance of intellectual property protection in education and industry.
"In addition to strengthening legal services, this MoU also includes support for the implementation of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, particularly in the areas of research and community service that directly address legal needs in the region," he added.
Through this synergy, Polman Babel and the Regional Office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights are optimistic about being able to deliver sustainable programs that not only strengthen their respective institutions but also contribute to the Bangka Belitung community and maintain the continuity of cooperation with various strategic programs that encourage innovation, intellectual property protection, and improve legal literacy within the university environment," he concluded.
