Educational Visit, SMK Negeri 1 Air Gegas Warmly Welcomed at Polman Negeri Babel
Somawardi, M.T., Lecturer at Polman Babel, motivated the students of SMK Negeri 1 Air Gegas to continue their education at Polman Babel, while explaining the various advantages of the campus, from modern facilities to promising career prospects for graduates.
Bangka Belitung State Manufacturing Polytechnic (Polman Babel) was the destination of an inspiring visit from SMK Negeri 1 Air Gegas, Wednesday (18/12/2024). Taking place in the Babel Polman Hall, this event was attended by 153 class XI students along with 43 accompanying teachers.
In his speech, Somawardi, M.T., one of Polman Babel's lecturers who was the main resource person, explained the advantages of the campus. "Polman Babel continues to be committed to improving the quality of vocational education and is ready to compete in the global era," he stressed.
Somawardi also invited students to make Polman Babel an option to continue their education after graduating from vocational school. "We hope that the younger students here can join and develop their potential with us," he said.
The excitement of the event became even more pronounced when the question and answer session took place. The students curiously asked various questions, ranging from scholarship opportunities to career prospects for Polman Babel graduates. This moment is proof of their high enthusiasm for learning.
After the discussion session, the students were invited to tour the campus facilities directly. They visited the Joint Lecture Building, the Electronics Department Laboratory, and the Mechanical Workshop. The students seemed enthusiastic about watching the ongoing lecture activities.
The head of SMK Negeri 1 Air Gegas, Muhtar Ariadi, M.Pd., revealed that this visit was part of the school's program to introduce students to higher education. “We want to open students' minds about quality continuing education options,” he said.
Muhtar also expressed his belief that Polman Babel is the right place for students who want to deepen their vocational education. "With facilities and competent teaching staff, Polman Babel can be the door to our students' future success," he added.
This activity not only provides a real picture of the world of college, but also motivates students to plan their future. Some students even admitted that they were starting to be interested in continuing their education at Polman Babel.
"I want the students of SMK Negeri 1 Air Gegas to be interested in studying at Polman Babel after seeing the facilities firsthand and hearing explanations from resource persons," he said.
