Babel State Polman Holds Election of Head of Department, Prepares New Leaders for the Future
The Director of Polman Babel, I Made Andik Setiawan, M.Eng., Ph.D., conveyed a message to the lecturers to choose according to their conscience and congratulated the elected Head of Department, hoping that they would bring new enthusiasm and innovation in advancing the institution.
Bangka Belitung State Manufacturing Polytechnic (Polman Babel) successfully held the election for Head of Department (Kajur) on Wednesday (21/08/2024). The event, which took place on the second floor of the Joint Lecture Building, ran smoothly and orderly, and was attended by all lecturers from various departments.
This election produced several new Heads of Departments, including the Department of Mechanical Engineering, the Department of Electrical Engineering and Agricultural Industry, as well as the Department of Informatics and Business.
In the Mechanical Engineering Department, competition was tight with four top candidates: Pristiansyah, M.Eng; Ramli, Ph.D; Dr. Ilham Ary Wahyudie, M.T; and Dr. Sukanto, M.Eng. After going through the voting process, Dr. Ilham Ary Wahyudie, M.T was elected as Head of Department with 29 votes out of a total of 57 valid votes.
Meanwhile, in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Agricultural Industry, Zanu Saputra, M.Tr.T, was the only candidate and was unanimously appointed as Head of the new Department.
In the Informatics and Business Department, competition is getting tighter with five candidates competing: Shidhiq Andriyanto, M.Kom; Ahmat Josi, M.Kom; Linda Fujiyanti, M.Ti; Yang Agita Rindri, M.Eng; and Riki Afriansyah, M.T. After counting the votes, Yang Agita Rindri, M.Eng succeeded in winning the position of Head of Department with 10 votes out of 13 valid votes.
The Director of Polman Babel, I Made Andik Setiawan, M.Eng., Ph.D., in his speech congratulated the elected Heads of Departments. He expressed his hope that these new leaders could bring enthusiasm and innovation in advancing their respective departments.
"Our goal is to improve the quality of education, research and service at Polman Babel, as well as strengthening collaboration with industry," he said.
I Made Andik also gave a special message to the selected Heads of Departments, emphasizing the importance of collaboration, both within the institution and with external partners.
"Responsibility as Head of Department is not only about leading, but also about embracing all parties to work together to achieve our big goals. I believe, with a spirit of togetherness and innovation, we can take Polman Babel to a higher level," he added.
With the election of these new Department Chairs, Polman Babel is optimistic about continuing to move forward to face future challenges and contribute to the development of competent human resources in Bangka Belitung and its surroundings.
