SUNGAILIAT_POLMANBABEL.PT. Amtek Engineering Batam carries out recruitment activities through campus hiring for final year students and alumni of the Bangka Belitung State Manufacturing Polytechnic (Babel State Police) Wednesday and Thursday, 29-30 June 2022 at the Babel State Police Campus.
The company, which is located in the Kammo Batam Industrial Estate, which is engaged in manufacturing, is currently in need of prospective workers in strategic positions.
Senior HR Officer PT. Amtek Engineering Batam, Jimmi Crawford Girsang said the Campus Hiring activity was a collaboration between Amtek Engineering Batam and Polman Negeri Babel in seeking prospective graduates and alumni from Polman Negeri Babel for toolmaker and machinist positions.
"The campus hiring agenda has 2 activities, the first is a written test and the second is an interview test from the user," explained Jimmi, (30/6).
Jimmi explained that the Amtek company looked to graduates of Polman Negeri Babel through campus hiring because the department at Polmanbabel focused more on the manufacturing sector required by the company.
"In Batam there is no manufacturing engineering department and there is not yet, that's why we take Polman Babel, even if there is in Batam it is not similar to what our industry needs," said Jimmi.
So far, Amtek Engineering Batam has conducted recruitment to Polmanbabel several years ago, this is the third time Amtek has taken graduates and alumni from Polman Negeri Babel.
"Polmanbabel graduates are still trusted and able to work in our place, so we are recruiting again to Bangka Belitung. Until now, Polmanbabel alumni are still working in amtek,” he added.
Through Campus Hiring, it opens opportunities for Polmanbabel students to start pursuing careers in the industry, because campus hiring from Amtek Engineering Batam not only recruits alumni, but also final year students also have the same opportunity to try to participate in the selection carried out by the recruitment team.
Meanwhile, the Director of Polmanbabel, I Made Andik Setiawan, thanked the Amtek Engineering Batam company for implementing this campus hiring.
"The existence of campus hiring is one form of activity to increase the absorption of Polmanbabel graduates in the world of work, especially industries that are relevant to their fields of knowledge," said Made.
"Polmanbabel will continue to collaborate with the industry regarding student apprenticeships and alumni recruitment through activities such as campus hiring. Students and alumni take advantage of existing opportunities, this shows that the industry has looked at Polmanbabel graduates through their skills and fields," said Made.
Made hopes that in the future Amtek can also open vacancies for students and alumni in the electrical and informatics department. Alumni recruitment and internship collaboration will also be carried out by MoU with the company.
A week ago Polman Negeri Babel also conducted campus hiring from Cargill Indonesia through PT. Pacrim Nusantara Lestari Foods. In the future, the National Police of Babel will continue to collaborate with the business world and industry to increase the absorption of Polmanbabel graduates.(oln).
