TRPL Study Program Conducts BAN-PT Accreditation Field Assessment
Online Software Engineering Accreditation Field Assessment by BAN-PT, 18-19 November 2022
SUNGAILIAT_POLMANBABEL. The Software Engineering Technology Study Program (TRPL) Department of Electrical and Informatics Engineering at the Bangka Belitung State Manufacturing Polytechnic (Polman Babel) carried out an online study program accreditation assessment by BAN – PT on 18-19 November 2022.
Head of TRPL Study Program, Ahmat Josi, M.Kom said that the accreditation preparation process had been carried out for a long time by the accreditation team at Polman Babel, and this field assessment was the first accreditation process for TRPL study program even though this study program had received a temporary accreditation score of Good.
He hopes that the results of this field assessment will obtain a minimum accreditation score of very good even though this study program is still relatively young, namely under five years of age.
"The age of the TRPL Study Program is still young, four years have passed and five years is not enough, but we have already graduated alumni in the TRPL Study Program," said Josi (11/19)
Even though they have just graduated one batch, TRPL graduates do not need a long time to pursue a future career, the world of work has looked at TRPL graduates through their abilities and expertise.
This was explained by Josi that out of 20 TRPL graduates, ten of them have got jobs and 2 people have businesses or are self-employed, so that there are 12 people who have careers, meaning that 50 percent of TRPL study program graduates have got jobs.
"This is a plus point for the TRPL study program because of the graduation last October, there were already 12 people who had jobs, meaning less than 3 months after graduating, there were already more than 50 percent of those who got jobs," he said.
Regarding the field assessment agenda, Josi said that there was already an agenda at BAN-PT and the process had been carried out in accordance with the provisions and needs of the assessors.
Josi also thanked all parties involved in the process of preparing accreditation documents up to the field assessment process.
Currently, the number of students of the TRPL Study Program is 169 students, this number does not mean that there are not many who are interested in entering TRPL but because of the tightness in the selection of admissions.
So far, the TRPL Study Program is the favorite study program, one person accepted can set aside 6-10 selection participants or even more, like last year, when there were hundreds on the list, only 60 people were accepted.
Josi also hopes that in the future there will be the development and addition of new majors such as informatics, business and creative economy so that it is possible that TRPL can also be included in these majors.
As a support for accreditation, TRPL students are very proud of their achievements, as explained by Josi recently TRPL students won first place in a website design competition, previously students were selected as students studying abroad, to be precise in Germany and Taiwan.
It is also the polytechnic side of the TRPL study program that has passed the most independent studies organized by the Ministry of Education and Culture.
"Many more non-academic achievements of our students TRPL on behalf of Afifah won the overall champion in rock climbing at the Banjarmasin arts department a few months ago, and now they are competing at POMNAS Padang," said Josi.
Meanwhile, I Made Andik Setiawan as the Director of Polman Babel said that the accreditation of study programs is a public responsibility to the community, all processes carried out both education, research, community service, infrastructure, human resources have met the requirements as determined nationally as higher education.
"If you don't meet the requirements, then we are not accredited or are not eligible, this is an assessment process, so from the start we have prepared well and many have met the requirements, there are no problems, this accreditation is the first for TRPL" he said.
"The main value of accreditation is for our students, because those who will carry and use accreditation are students after graduation," he continued.
