Babel State Polman Students Win 1st and 3rd Place in the 2024 Microcontroller Technology Creation Competition at UBB
Bangka Belitung State Manufacturing Polytechnic (Polman Babel) students again proved their superiority in the field of technology in the Microcontroller Technology Creation Competition held by Bangka Belitung University on Saturday (14/09/2024).
This competition carries the theme "Creative, Productive and Competitive Racing on Technological Development Combined with Indonesian Culture Towards the Era of Society 5.0" and emphasizes sustainable and environmentally friendly technological innovation.
In this competition, the TEB TEAM from Polman Babel consisting of Firly Maulina, Gilang Agusti, and Zainul Muttaqin Alghiffari won 1st place thanks to their final project entitled "Application of Wind Power Generation for Automatic IoT-Based Street Lamp Lighting on Coasts." This project utilizes wind energy to produce electricity that is used for automatic lighting in coastal areas, providing a sustainable solution for areas that still have difficulty getting access to electricity.
Not only that, TIM 404 Not Found, whose members are Zainul Muttaqin Alghiffari, Febrian Athala, and Vadila, successfully won 3rd place with an innovation entitled "Solar Powered Traffic Control." This project highlights the use of solar energy for traffic control systems, while supporting efforts to reduce carbon emissions in the transportation sector.
Eko Sulistyo, M.T., lecturer and supervisor of the two winning teams, expressed his pride in this achievement. "These two teams have shown extraordinary dedication and creativity. They have succeeded in proving that the technology they have developed can have a positive impact on society and the environment," he said.
Ocsirendi, M.T., another supervisor, also expressed his hope that similar innovations would continue to be developed. "We hope that works like this can be an inspiration for other students to continue to innovate and contribute through environmentally friendly technology," he said.
Zainul Muttaqin, who was part of the two winning student teams, said that the process of developing this project was full of challenges, but provided valuable experiences and lessons. "From research to prototype testing, everything was a very valuable experience," he said.
"This achievement further strengthens Polman Babel's position as an institution that plays an active role in developing technology for the benefit of the wider community," he concluded.
