CNC Certification, Preparing Mechanical Engineering Students for the Manufacturing World
Polman Babel - Polman Babel Campus has just held a CNC practical exam certification for students majoring in Mechanical Engineering on Thursday (08/08/2024).
This certification aims to improve students' competence and skills in operating CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machines, an important technology in the modern manufacturing industry.
The exam involved four assessors: Eko Yudo, M.T., Husman, M.T., Zaldy Kurniawan, M.T., and Boy Rollastin, M.T.
This CNC practical exam is an integral part of student competency certification and is carried out over two days in the CNC Mechanical Workshop laboratory. Final year students take this exam before their graduation.
The purpose of this practical exam is to assess students' ability to operate CNC machines, including programming, setting and operating the machine to produce products with high precision.
Boy Rollastin, M.T., one of the assessors, emphasized the importance of this exam to ensure graduates have the practical skills needed in the manufacturing industry.
“This CNC practical exam is an important part of student preparation before entering the world of work. "We hope that, through this exam, students can show their ability to apply the theory they have learned during lectures," he said.
"During the practical exam, students are tested in programming and operating CNC machines, as well as understanding the basic principles of cutting, machine settings and troubleshooting," said Boy.
One of the applied undergraduate students, Anggi Saputra, expressed his enthusiasm for taking this exam and called it an interesting challenge that provided valuable experience in applying technical knowledge.
"Anggi hopes that this practical exam can improve the quality of graduates majoring in Mechanical Engineering, Polman Babel Campus, so that they are ready to compete in the job market and contribute to industrial development in Indonesia," he concluded.
