UPM Conducts Quality Standards Socialization at SunJaya
Quality Standards Socialization Activity by UPM Polman Negeri Babel at Sunjaya Hotel, 17 October 2022
SUNGAILIAT_POLMANBABEL. The Quality Assurance Unit (UPM) of the Bangka Belitung State Manufacturing Polytechnic (Polman Negeri Babel) carried out a quality standard socialization activity to students at the Sunjaya Hotel, Monday 17 October 2022.
A total of 40 student representatives from the Polman Negeri Babel Department Student Association (HMJ) attended the socialization.
Head of UPM Polman Negeri Babel, Dr. Ilham Wahyudie, M.T said that this socialization activity was part of the process of revising quality standards at the Polman Negeri Babel.
There are five quality standards that are in the process of being revised in accordance with national standards and the needs of the Polman Negeri Babel, including standards related to education, research, service, academic, and non-academic.
"This socialization is aimed at students because students as our stakeholders in higher education, students are very interested in the design of the standards that are made," said Ilham (17/10).
"Students can provide input and suggestions on standards as needed," he added.
In addition to participants from the Polman Negeri Babel Department Student Association, UPM also invited students from other universities in this socialization.
"We thank the students who attended this socialization and provided suggestions, the students actively provided solutions and questions, hopefully this will be better in the future," said Ilham.
The lecturer who just finished his doctoral degree explained that the UPM agenda this time was not only socialization of quality standards to students but also the quality standard team carrying out discussions on the Internal Quality Audit (AMI) which was taking place at the Polman Negeri Babel.
"There are 2 activities carried out, firstly the socialization of quality standards and secondly the preparation of internal quality audits," said Ilham.
He added that an internal quality audit requires a checklist form for questions to the auditor so that SPMI requires a systematic question form that leads to the designed standard or the quality standard that is made.
"The purpose of this activity is to get a good list so that when the quality audit can be used properly, the socialization design activity and the discussion of the internal quality audit are related to each other," said Ilham.
This internal quality audit activity also supports the university's accreditation process by building a quality culture within the tridharma of higher education in accordance with national standards.
"What is built is a quality culture, when the quality culture appears it will have an impact on accreditation, what is needed is a quality culture standard, for the standard itself to be implemented or not an audit is needed," explained Ilham.
"The hope is that the accreditation of institutions and study programs will be good," he continued.
On the same occasion, the Director of the Polman Negeri Babel, I Made Andik Setiawan, M.Eng., PhD said that this UPM activity was an internal quality audit to ensure the implementation of the tridharma of higher education in the Polman Negeri Babel in accordance with the quality standards that have been set nationally.
In addition, carrying out evaluations of other qualities in the Polman Negeri Babel related to university governance with nationally existing standards.
"The purpose of self-evaluation is to improve quality in the future".
Made hopes that this Internal Quality Audit activity is not just a formality but should really be a reference in the implementation of governance to ensure the achievement of the vision and mission of the Polman Negeri Babel through an improvement and continuous process of quality assurance.
