393 New Polman Babel Students Participate in PKKMB 2023, Forming Discipline and Spirit of Leadership

SUNGAIILIAT-POLMANBABEL. Acceptance of new students has ended, students who graduate as prospective students will have the opportunity to take part in campus induction activities.
A total of 393 new students of the Bangka Belitung State Manufacturing Polytechnic (Polman Babel) have participated in the 2023 Introduction to Campus Life for New Students (PKKMB) from 01 August to 04 August 2023 at the Polman Babel green campus.
With details from the mechanical engineering department 210 new students, electronics and informatics engineering majors 180 new students, and there are also old students who have not participated in the previous year's PKKMB a total of 3 students.
The activity which lasted for five days also invited speakers from outside, such as from Kodim 0413/Bangka on the first and second days in the context of character building, namely training discipline and leadership.
There were also speakers from the Bangka Regency National Narcotics Agency (BNNK) on the third day, the rest of the material was filled in from the internal campus regarding student affairs, academics, and student organizations.
As stated by the Director of Polman Babel, I Made Andik Setiawan at the opening of PKKMB a few days ago, this introductory period is to unite new students to become a large Polman Babel family, and also to train the mindset of students to become students.
According to him, the PKKMB participants were great people who would later fill important positions in the life of the nation and state.
" Instill in all of you that you are all great people, you are good people because you are our future leaders, " Made said in his speech (01/08).
He also advised new students to be able to take advantage of their college years later, this is the start of a career journey to achieve what they aspire to, take advantage of PPKMB activities to get to know one another.
" Never embarrass your parents, friends, and this nation, make everyone proud, with one condition: study and work harder and be disciplined, " said Made.
When studying later, students must be active in lectures and other activities, read a lot and take advantage of the facilities available at Polman Babel.
Apart from that, Made also motivates new students to continue studying by utilizing the right age to study because students currently have three strengths, namely physical strength, mental strength and mental strength.
Made also said that Polman Babel also implemented the Independent Learning Campus Merdeka (MBKM) program which had been running well in accordance with government policy.
That is, students are given the opportunity to develop their individual potential according to their interests and potential.
" The Merdeka Campus provides space for students to develop their potential. Those who are great in politics are welcome to join student organizations such as the student senate, BEM, " he said.
"Those who are passionate about sports, please join sports UKM and others, all of them are at Polman Babel," he continued.
He continued, students must choose MBKM activities according to their potential because this is mandatory for students to carry out in addition to other lecture activities.
Meanwhile, Dandim 0413/Bangka also had the opportunity to provide material on student character development and national insight on the second day of the 2023 PKKMB activities.
Dandim Lt. Col. Arm Firstya Andrean Gitras gave material about defending the country, attitudes and behavior of citizens who inspire love for the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia based on Pancasila and the 1945 Constitution to ensure the survival of the nation and state.
"In defending the country there are five basic values contained therein, namely love for the motherland, awareness of the nation and state, belief in Pancasila as an ideology, willingness to sacrifice for the nation and state, and having the ability to defend the country," he explained.
He also said that national insight is very important for students, in order to be able to understand history, lineage of cultural customs that exist in the country of Indonesia, so that in the future they can maintain and continue and maintain the values contained in the history or struggle of the Indonesian people.
