Babel State Polman TRPM Students, Gain Insight into Mechanical Engineering Drawing 1 with PT Timah Practitioner Lecturers
Practitioner lecturer from PT Timah, Tbk, Dwi Prayitno, was present to give a lecture on the Mechanical Engineering Drawing 1 course in the Drawing Studio laboratory, Friday (22/11/2024).
This activity was attended by 31 semester 1 students from the D4 Manufacturing Engineering Design Study Program (TRPM).
Dwi Prayitno, who serves as Asst Operational Excellence at PT Timah, presented material that focused on the basic principles of technical drawing and its application in the industrial world.
"Mastery of drawing techniques is the key to producing designs that are accurate and comply with manufacturing standards," he said.
In this session, students gained direct insight into industry standards applied in the design process at PT Timah, including working drawing interpretation techniques used in large projects.
Dwi also motivates students to be confident and continue to develop technical skills. "Opportunities to learn and hone skills in college like this must be utilized optimally," he stressed.
Meanwhile, Idiar, M.T., as the lecturer in this course, expressed his appreciation for Dwi Prayitno's contribution. "The presence of practitioners provides students with a real perspective from the world of work, so that the theories studied become more relevant." he said.
Idiar also hopes that the collaboration with PT Timah will continue. "We want to build stronger connections with industry to increase the competency of graduates who are ready to compete," he said.
Lectures with practitioners are one of Polman Babel's steps in bringing students closer to the industrial world, creating graduates who are not only strong academically, but also ready to face the challenges of the field.
"In the future, Polman Babel is committed to continuing to present practitioner lecturers from various industrial sectors to improve the quality of real application-based education," he said.
"This kind of collaboration not only strengthens students' skills, but also bridges the gap between theory and practice which is often a challenge in vocational education," explained Idiar.
