Babel State Polman Lecturers Play an Active Role in the Campus Teaching Program with UNMUH Babel Students
The Teaching Campus Program is back with new enthusiasm in Bangka Belitung Province. This time, a number of lecturers from the Bangka Belitung State Manufacturing Polytechnic (Polman Babel) took part as Field Supervisors (DPL), including Idiar, M.T., Novitasari, M.Pd., Elisa Mayang Sari, M.Pd., Pristiani, M.T. , and Indah Rizky Pratiwi, M.Pd.
Their participation is clear evidence of Polman Babel's contribution in supporting improving the quality of education at the secondary school level, collaborating with students from Muhammadiyah University (UMMU) Bangka Belitung.
On this occasion, Idiar, M.T., who served as DPL, together with Juanda, M.T., as DPL coordinator, made a working visit to the Bangka Belitung Provincial Education Office on Wednesday (04/09/2024).
This visit aims to accompany eight UMMU Bangka Belitung students who are currently undergoing the Teaching Campus program. These students come from the Mathematics study program and are currently in their seventh semester.
Secretary of the Bangka Belitung Provincial Education Service, Azami Anwar, welcomed this visit enthusiastically, we really appreciate the contribution of Polman Babel and UMMU through the Teaching Campus program. "This activity is a positive step to bridge the gap between theory in college and practice in the field," he said.
Azami also emphasized the importance of the role of lecturers as DPL in providing direction and assistance to students.
"With the right guidance, students can better understand the dynamics of education at the school level and apply the knowledge they gain on campus directly," he explained. According to Azami, this experience is very valuable for students to hone their teaching abilities and develop the soft skills needed in the world of education.
One of the UMMU students involved in this program, Putrianti, expressed her pride. "This is my first experience teaching in an elementary school. The challenge is extraordinary, but very fun," said Putrianti.
He felt that this opportunity gave him a deeper understanding of the world of education, especially in remote areas. "Guidance from DPL lecturers such as Idiar, M.T., and Juanda, M.T., really helps us in navigating challenges in the field," he added.
DPL Polman Babel lecturer, Idiar, M.T., explained further regarding student placement. "There are eight UMMU Babel students who will be placed at SMK Negeri 1 Kelapa and SMK Negeri 1 Mentok," he said.
According to him, this program provides an opportunity for students to experience firsthand the challenges and dynamics of the world of education.
This Teaching Campus program not only has a positive impact on students and lecturers, but also strengthens cooperation between Polman Babel and UMMU. "This collaboration allows the exchange of knowledge and different teaching methods, which can ultimately improve the quality of education in the country," said Idiar.
Apart from that, this program also provides an opportunity to evaluate and improve existing teaching methods. "By going directly into the field, we can see how the theories we teach in class can be applied in the real world, and from there we can make the necessary improvements," added Idiar.
Overall, the Teaching Campus Program in Bangka Belitung provides many valuable lessons for all parties involved, including students, lecturers, schools and students. It is hoped that this program can be an example for similar initiatives in the future, which prioritize collaboration and joint development for the advancement of education in Indonesia.
"This Teaching Campus Program not only strengthens relationships between institutions, but also enriches educational experiences at a deeper level," he concluded.
