"Lecturers need to understand that the results of their innovation are not only beneficial to society, but can also be protected legally," he continued.
Apart from that, Yoko Setianto, S.T., M.Sc., who was also a speaker at this event, explained the importance of this program in the context of government regulations. He explained that patent writing is regulated in Law No. 13 of 2016 and Permenkumham No. 38 of 2018, which aim to provide legal protection for innovators and researchers.
“As lecturers and researchers, we need to be aware that our ideas and innovations are assets that must be protected. "By writing patents, we can ensure that our work is not misused," stressed Toto, expressing his enthusiasm for the continuation of this activity.
Yoko also expressed his hope to the lecturers that they would be more active in producing research that could be patented.
"It is hoped that this activity will be a trigger for lecturers to continue to innovate and produce works that are useful for the wider community," he added.
The enthusiasm of the lecturers in participating in this activity was clearly visible, considering the great opportunity to protect and utilize their research results more optimally.
This workshop provides intensive training regarding the process, stages and techniques for writing a patent in accordance with applicable regulations.
Participants also gain an in-depth understanding of the importance of patents as a tool to protect innovation. Not only theory, this activity is also equipped with a practical patent writing session, so that lecturers can immediately start drafting patents for their respective research.
With this workshop, we hope that lecturers will be better prepared to face challenges in the world of research and innovation.
"In the future, Polman Babel should continue to hold similar activities to support lecturers in producing quality research that is legally protected," said Yoko Setianto.
