Babel State Polman Receives Visit from MSU Malaysia, Opens Way for Educational Cooperation
Bangka Belitung State Manufacturing Polytechnic (Polman Babel) officially received a visit from the Management and Science University (MSU) from Selangor, Malaysia, in a series of initial outreach programs aimed at opening up opportunities for industrial and academic collaboration, Thursday (26/09/2024).
It is hoped that this activity can open new pathways for students and lecturers to develop global competencies through the various programs offered.
The event, which was held in the main meeting room of Polman Babel, was attended directly by the Director of Polman Babel, I Made Andik Setiawan, M.Eng., Ph.D., along with the institutional leadership. Intensive discussions took place in an atmosphere full of enthusiasm from both parties discussing the potential for strategic collaboration in the future.
In his speech, I Made Andik Setiawan expressed his optimism regarding this collaboration. "The collaboration with MSU opens up a great opportunity for Polman Babel to explore wider collaboration, especially in the fields of industry and education. We hope that students and lecturers can gain useful international experience," he said.
Furthermore, I Made hopes that this program will not just be a discourse, but will actually be realized with benefits that can be felt by the entire academic community. "We continue to fully support this initiative so that it has a positive impact, especially for developing student abilities and improving the quality of lecturer research," he added.
Achmad, a representative from MSU, in his presentation explained that several well-known polytechnics in Indonesia have collaborated with MSU, including the Jakarta State Polytechnic (PNJ), Jember State Polytechnic (Polije), Samarinda Polytechnic, and Bandung State Polytechnic (Polban). This is an indicator that MSU has a strong network in building international academic relations.
Achmad also explained several superior programs offered by MSU, including Student Mobility, Joint Publication, licensing and double degrees. It is hoped that these programs can improve the quality of graduates and provide students with the opportunity to gain experience studying abroad.
"The Student Mobility and double degree programs are very interesting because they give students the opportunity to experience the educational atmosphere in two countries at once, as well as getting two internationally recognized degrees," explained Achmad.
He also assured that MSU is ready to fully support the implementation of these programs at Polman Babel. "We believe that this collaboration will provide great benefits for both parties and can bring significant changes in the development of vocational education in Indonesia," he added.
"We hope that this collaboration between Polman Babel and MSU will soon be realized, opening wider doors for the development of international education which will have a positive impact on all parties involved," he concluded.
